Helix Care needs a reliable, experienced Support Worker for ongoing shifts with an NDIS participant in Chelsea.

🕥 Fridays 10:30am–2:30pm (flexible) + one more weekday (day/time negotiable with the participant)

The work: cooking, meal prep, light cleaning, groceries and errands, community outings, and supporting independence at home.

Must have: NDIS Worker Screening Check, Police Check, WWCC, First Aid & CPR, full licence + reliable insured car, ABN and contractor insurances. Support work experience preferred — and you'll need to be handy in the kitchen.

We want someone patient, dependable and easy-going who takes direction well from the participant.

The role:

What you'll be helping with:
Cooking and meal prep, light cleaning and household tasks, grocery shopping and errands, social and community outings — all with a focus on helping the participant stay independent at home and out in the community.

You'll need:
✅ NDIS Worker Screening Check
✅ Police Check + Working With Children Check
✅ Current First Aid & CPR
✅ Full Australian driver's licence, reliable insured vehicle
✅ ABN + appropriate contractor insurances
✅ Disability/support work experience preferred
✅ Confident in the kitchen and happy to follow the participant's preferences

Helix Care is seeking a compassionate, reliable and experienced female support worker to join our team as an independent contractor and support an NDIS participant in the Chelsea area.

📍 Location: Chelsea, VIC

📅 Immediate Start Available

🕒 Current Shifts:
- Monday: 10:30am – 3:30pm
- Tuesday: 10:30am – 3:30pm
- Friday: 10:30am – 3:30pm

Additional shifts of similar hours may become available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities include:
• Meal preparation and cooking home-style meals.
• Following recipes and meal plans.
• Light domestic assistance and household tasks.
• Community access and transport (if required).
• Providing respectful, person-centred support.
• Building a genuine, trusting relationship with the participant.

# # # We are looking for someone who:
✅ Female support worker.
✅ Ideally middle-aged with a mature, caring and friendly nature.
✅ Confident with cooking and meal preparation.
✅ Able to follow instructions and routines.
✅ Experience supporting people with disability preferred.
✅ Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
✅ Current First Aid & CPR.
✅ Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
✅ Current ABN and appropriate insurance.

A support worker with an understanding of European-style cooking or a similar cultural background would be highly regarded, in line with the participant's preferences.
