Today, the MIPS team (including some furry friends) has proudly pulled on our craziest socks in support of Crazy Socks 4 Docs Day.

This year's theme, "Safe to Speak Up," highlights the importance of creating a healthcare culture where conversations about mental health are encouraged, supported and free from stigma. When healthcare professionals feel safe to seek help and share their experiences, everyone benefits.

As an organisation dedicated to supporting healthcare professionals, we're proud to stand behind the Crazy Socks 4 Docs Foundation and its mission to promote mental wellbeing across the healthcare community. 💜🧦

Our first medico-legal workshop for 2026 wrapped up in Sydney on Saturday, and what a session it was.

A big thank you to our expert panel, Dr Owen Bradfield, Dr Gerard Clausen, and Ms Nevena Brown, for sharing their expertise across four sessions packed with practical takeaways.

It was also great to have our CEO, Natasha Anning, on the day connecting with members.

Members came away with insights on:
- Privacy and AI: what "health information" really means, how surveillance device laws apply to AI transcription tools, and what's required before recording a consultation.
- Prescribing: navigating the complex web of federal and state obligations, including what NSW's updated ADHD prescribing rules mean for GPs since September 2025.
- Cultural safety: your obligations when experiencing or witnessing racism in the workplace, and how to manage the therapeutic relationship safely
- Dental practice: handling complaints, understanding your contract obligations, and why an apology is not an admission of guilt.
