Common sources of chemical stress include:

✖️ Processed foods and excess sugar
✖️ Dehydration
✖️ Excess caffeine or alcohol
✖️ Smoking
✖️ Environmental toxins and pollutants
✖️ Food sensitivities or intolerances
✖️ Certain medications and chemical exposure
✖️ Poor nutrition and nutrient deficiencies

Ways to reduce chemical stress:

✔️ Stay well hydrated throughout the day
✔️ Eat a balanced diet rich in whole foods
✔️ Increase your intake of fruits and vegetables

As chiropractors, we regularly talk about three main types of stress: physical, chemical, and emotional.

Common sources of physical stress include:

✖️ Poor posture from sitting at a desk all day
✖️ Repetitive movements at work or in sport
✖️ Lack of movement or exercise
✖️ Overtraining and inadequate recovery
✖️ Injuries, falls, and accidents
✖️ Poor sleeping positions

⛳ Golf is a game of millimetres.

A putt a few millimetres offline misses the hole. Small differences in movement can have a huge impact on performance. That’s why about three quarters of professional golfers receive regular chiropractic care to help them play at their peak potential. ⚡️

🏌️‍♂️ For golfers, chiropractic care may help with:
• Spinal and joint mobility
• Movement efficiency through the swing
• Managing or recovering from injuries
• Optimising physical function for performance

📊 A study published in 2009 explored this connection. Researchers in Brazil conducted a randomised controlled trial involving 43 golfers over a four-week period.

Participants were divided into two groups:
• Control group: completed a stretching program
• Chiropractic group: completed the same stretching program plus weekly chiropractic adjustments

Researchers measured driving distance before and after the study period.

📈 Results:
By the final session, the chiropractic group increased their driving distance by around 8 metres, compared with about 0.5 metres in the stretching-only group.

So, if you want to get the most out of your golf game, take after the pros and see a chiropractor, because those few milimetres make all the difference between the perfect drive and fishing your ball out of the pond 😂
