Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve posted from this account. I just wanted to share some piccies from my suspension last week. I had such a great time, it was juuuust what I needed!
Some thoughts: Between trying to overcome the trauma caused by the piercing/body modification industry, and the loss of agency and autonomy after becoming a mother/parent, my feelings towards the industry and myself have been complicated over the last few years, to say the least. Being able to do this “trust fall exercise” with myself has been so fu***ng healing. I cannot tell you how amazing it was to say that “I chose this”, “I did it for me and myself alone”. I don’t even know if I can articulate it properly but that’s a damn powerful feeling when you’ve felt so lost for so long. Thank you High Tea Suspensions and Immersive Environments for being SO kind, thoughtful and caring. Thank you Jess and Will for being the support I needed.
Glad I finally got to wear this dress (I bought it to suspend in two years ago lol). So excited for next time. I reckon I’ll have to swing some more and be more “active” (ya know, actually be tough about it lol) but the slow and steady way we did it last week was perfect.
