SPRING is here!! Our community gardening bee is on Saturday 5th Sept from 10am to 1pm. All Welcome. And the Spring magazine is now out! DCF and our wonderful members FEFN members are in an 8 page spread about Frankston's Environmental friends groups. Many thanks to Sally Syles, creator and editor, for all the hard work she put in to tell this important story.

The Farm is open today 10am - 1pm to enjoy some gardening and good company! Everyone’s welcome 🌱

We are also at Bunnings Frankston today - working with Rotary to raise funds for a new public AED (defibrillator) at the Farm - pop down to support us at the sausage sizzle if you can 🌸🌻

Avian Flu: How can we help Birdlife Australia protect the birds we are so used to seeing in our skies? Please see useful info below and contact your local MP as well.

Today brings difficult news for everyone who cares about Australia's birds.

The Federal Government has now confirmed that the Brown Skua found in southwest Western Australia, which was previously suspected of having H5 bird flu, has tested positive for the virus. This marks the first confirmed detection of this devastating strain on mainland Australia.

Around the world, H5 bird flu has caused catastrophic losses, killing millions of wild birds and pushing already vulnerable species closer to extinction.

For Australia's birds, the stakes could not be higher.

One in six Australian bird species is already threatened with extinction, with many populations already under pressure from habitat loss, climate change and other human impacts. The arrival of H5 bird flu presents a serious new challenge.

BirdLife Australia is closely monitoring this developing situation and will continue advocating for strong monitoring, preparedness and coordinated action to help protect our birds.

The garden is open today (Sat) and the sun is shining too!
Drop in, say hello. Lend a hand if you like. 10am- 1 pm. Flowers, herbs and veg and fruit are growing.

Tomorrow, Saturday is Community Gardening bee at the Farm! Come along and meet other locals who enjoy being in the outdoors, growing food, and working together as a team.
