Most people don’t come to fasting feeling confident that they can do it.

They come with the exact same fears we hear all the time — “I get shaky if I skip a meal,” “I could never go without food,” “my body wouldn’t cope,” or “fasting just isn’t for someone like me.”

But often, underneath that fear, there is also a knowing.

You know your digestion feels sluggish. You know your energy is not where it should be. You know your mind feels foggy, your nervous system feels anxious, or your body feels like it is asking for something different.

That is where fasting begins for many people. Not with certainty, and not with some dramatic health crisis, but with the quiet realisation that the way they have been living is no longer working for their body.

At Tolman, we do not believe you need to wait until disease is knocking at your door before you take action. Prevention matters. Listening early matters. Giving the body the chance to reset before things become louder matters.

And for so many people, fasting becomes the thing they never thought they could do — until they are supported through it and realise their body was far more capable than they believed.

So if part of you is saying, “this isn’t for me,” but another part of you knows something needs to change, trust that voice.

That is often the voice worth listening to.

A 21-day water fast is not simply a longer version of a short fast.

It allows the body to spend extended time in the deeper phases of fasting physiology — where insulin remains low, fat becomes the dominant fuel source, ketones supply the brain, autophagy is sustained, and the body is no longer occupied with constant digestion and nutrient processing.

This is where the real shift happens.

Not just digestive rest.
Not just reduced calories.
Not just “detox.”

A 21-day fast gives the body time to enter a more profound state of metabolic adaptation — supporting cellular clean-up, inflammatory down-regulation, improved insulin sensitivity, immune system renewal, and deeper repair mechanisms that shorter fasts may only begin to activate.

It is powerful because it is sustained.

A fast of this length must be done with care, supervision and proper refeeding. But when held correctly, a 21-day water fast can be one of the most profound ways to reset the body at a cellular, metabolic and systemic level.

This is why 21 days is different. 💧💥 🦠

There’s a strange thing that happens as adults.

Life hits hard, and we keep going.

We break a wrist. We have surgery. Someone we love dies unexpectedly. We keep showing up. Keep functioning. Keep being capable. Keep telling people we’re okay.

And sometimes months later, the body taps us on the shoulder and says, “I’m not okay.”

When Cecile arrived at the centre, she wasn’t only carrying the recovery from a serious wrist injury and surgery. Four months earlier, life had changed suddenly again when she lost a friend unexpectedly. Then came thick eczema across her feet. A physical reminder that something deeper had not settled.

What moved us about Cecile wasn’t that her eczema cleared within four days.

It was being reminded of something we see so often.

Human beings are remarkably good at surviving difficult seasons.

Too good sometimes.

We compartmentalise. We adapt. We override what we feel because work still needs doing. People still need us. Life keeps moving whether we’re ready or not.

Until one day you realise you haven’t actually caught up to what happened.

Not physically.
Not emotionally.
Not mentally.

Cecile gave herself something many people never do.

Time.
Time to stop.
Time to let the noise settle.
Time to allow her body and mind to finally arrive in the same place at the same time.

Sometimes healing isn’t found in doing more.
Sometimes it lives inside the things we no longer give ourselves permission for.

Rest.
Stillness.
Space.

Thank you Cecile 🤍

We have some big news 🤍

Over October and November, we’re both doing a full 21-day water fast here at the centre, followed by seven days of intentional refeeding.

The truth is, it’s been a really big few years for us. Building this business, raising our family, supporting hundreds of guests through their healing journeys and pouring everything we have into creating something we deeply believe in.

We genuinely do our best to practise health every single day. We prioritise nourishing food, movement, time in nature, nervous system support, sleep and creating an environment that supports health and healing. But we’re human too, and if we’re being completely honest, somewhere amongst building a beautiful life, family and business, we have been stretched beyond measure.

We’ve given everything to this season of life and whilst we wouldn’t change it for the world, we know deeply that we need to intentionally pour back into ourselves. Between now and then, our focus is building ourselves up well. Nourishing deeply. Slowing down where we can. Supporting our bodies properly and preparing intentionally - a deeper reset mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically.

There’s also another reason this feels important.

We witness incredible transformations here every month, but we realised recently that whilst we’ve created this experience for others, we’ve never actually fully experienced this version of it ourselves in our new space. To do this alongside our guests allows us to immerse ourselves fully in everything this space offers whilst continuing to practise what we teach.

Benefits of a 21-day water fast include:

1.Cellular clean-up and repair pathways through autophagy
2. Metabolic adaptation, fat oxidation and improved insulin sensitivity
3. Immune and inflammatory pathway changes associated with fasting physiology
4. Greater mental clarity and metabolic flexibility through ketone production

We’d genuinely love to experience this alongside you and walk through this experience together.

October (Thor) is already half booked and November (Bree) is now open.

If this feels aligned for your season of life, we’d love to have you with us

There were so many moments where this life could have never happened.

Moments where we ignored the pull.
Where fear felt louder than purpose.
Where choosing the “safe” path would have been easier.

If you had met us in our late teens and early twenties, you probably wouldn’t have imagined this would become our life.

We were both searching in different ways.

Searching for meaning.
Direction. Connection.
For ourselves.

There were years of partying, numbing, burnout, confusion, self-doubt, and trying to fit into versions of success that never fully felt aligned. We didn’t become passionate about health because life was perfect — we became passionate about it because we experienced firsthand what it feels like to be disconnected from yourself.

And somewhere underneath all of that, there was always a deeper knowing:
That the body is intelligent.
That healing is possible.
That people need more than symptom management.
That true wellness asks us to look at the whole person.

Long before the fasting centre existed, we used to speak about this life together constantly. A place surrounded by nature. Community. Purposeful work. Raising our children differently. Helping people reconnect to themselves and heal in an environment that felt deeply human.

At the time, it felt almost impossible.
We had no roadmap.
No investors.
No certainty.
Just a vision we couldn’t shake.

When we opened the centre, we invested everything we had into it — financially, emotionally, energetically.

There were stressful seasons.
Exhausting seasons.
Moments where we questioned whether we could keep going.

But there were also moments that changed us forever.

Watching someone arrive hopeless and leave with light back in their eyes.
Hearing guests say they finally felt seen.
Seeing people reconnect with their bodies after years of feeling betrayed by them.
Watching the ripple effect flow into marriages, families, confidence, purpose and life itself.

That’s when we realised:

This was never just a business.

It became a space for transformation.

Now, nearly 500 people have now trusted us to guide them through their healing journeys in person, and there truly aren’t words for how much that means to us.

To every guest who has walked through our doors…
To everyone who has supported us quietly from afar…
To the people who believed in us before this made sense…

Thank you. 🤍

We know how vulnerable it is to trust someone with your health.
We know how hard it can feel to start again.
And we know healing is never just physical.

Our promise is to continue evolving, learning, refining and deepening this work — so every person who comes here feels genuinely supported, cared for, and reminded of the body’s incredible ability to heal when given the chance.

This is so much bigger than fasting.

This is our life’s work.

You’re tired all the time — and it’s not because you’re “getting old.” 👀

Most people are exhausted because their biology is being hijacked by modern life.
We wake up indoors, spend the day under artificial lights, stare at screens until bed, eat too late, stay mentally switched on, and then wonder why our sleep is broken and our energy is flat.

Your body runs on rhythm. ☀️🌙

Morning light tells your brain it’s daytime. Darkness at night tells your body to make melatonin. A break from food before bed tells your digestive system it can rest instead of working overtime.

Simple, but powerful.

Try this tonight:

🌙 Dim the lights after sunset
📵 Get off screens one hour before bed
📖 Read, stretch, breathe or talk instead
☀️ Get sunlight in your eyes early tomorrow
💧 Stop eating 2–3 hours before bed and stick to water

You don’t need to “push through” tiredness. You need to stop sending your body mixed signals.

Better sleep starts when you work with your biology, not against it.

Kate’s journey wasn’t really just about fasting.

It was about what happens when someone finally stops running from themselves, but using fasting as a way to meet yourself where you’re at.

She came to the centre already deeply self-aware. She had spent years doing the work, learning, healing, growing spiritually, trying to reconnect with herself. But sometimes you can understand everything intellectually and still feel disconnected in your body. Still feel tension. Pain. Resistance. Like something in you is still holding on.

And that’s what shifted here.

Not because of one treatment or one breakthrough moment, but because for the first time in a long time, Kate fully let herself unravel.

The breathwork cracked things open. The sound healing moved emotions she had held onto for years. The fasting stripped everything back. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, she stopped trying to control the process and finally allowed herself to feel everything she had spent years pushing past.

What moved us most was hearing her say she had finally accepted all of herself.

Not the healed version.
Not the spiritual version.
Not the version trying to become better.

Just herself.💙

There’s something incredibly emotional about witnessing that in someone, because most people spend their whole lives believing they need to change before they can fully love themselves.

And the body feels that.

By the end of her stay, the physical pain she arrived with had disappeared completely. But honestly, that almost felt secondary to the shift in her energy. She looked softer. Calmer. More open. Like someone who had finally come back into alignment with herself after years of pushing against her own inner world.

Doing the Boundless Love experience alongside her partner made it even more special. There is something powerful about being witnessed by the person you love while you are stripping away years of armour.

Sometimes it’s about finally allowing yourself to be fully seen — by yourself first.✨

This is the part of health we don’t always know how to name.
The moment you realise your body has been carrying the cost of all the times you said “I’m fine” when you weren’t.

All the times you pushed through the tiredness.

Ate whatever was easiest.
Skipped the walk.
Ignored the tight chest.
Stayed up too late.
Kept giving from a place that was already empty.
Told yourself you’d come back to your body later.
And then one day, later arrives.

You feel flat. Inflamed. Heavy. Disconnected. Exhausted in a way sleep doesn’t seem to fix.
It can feel like your body has turned against you, but more often, it has been trying to get your attention for a long time.

Symptoms are not always random. Sometimes they are the language of a body that starts to beg for you to listen because the quieter signs were missed.

This is not about blame. Most people don’t abandon themselves on purpose.

They do it slowly, while trying to be responsible, productive, reliable, agreeable, needed, capable.

But healing asks for a different kind of honesty.

Not “how do I force my body back into line?”
But “where have I stopped listening?”
“Where am I overriding myself?”
“What kind of care have I been postponing?”

Coming back to yourself doesn’t need to be this dramatic upheaval.

Sometimes it starts with eating properly.
Going to bed earlier.
Saying no.
Walking outside.
Booking the appointment.
Letting yourself rest before you collapse.
Choosing support instead of silently struggling.

Your body is not the enemy.
It may be the place you have been trying to come home to all along.🩵

LARISSA 💛

When Larissa first came to us last year, it was only a few weeks after brain surgery. At that point, the fast wasn’t about pushing herself. It was more about dipping her toes in, gently reconnecting with her body, and seeing what was possible after having her world completely turned upside down.
This year felt different.

She returned ready for a deeper journey and completed a 21-day water fast with so much grace, trust and strength. What’s so special about Larissa is that despite everything she has faced, she has remained incredibly grounded, warm and heart-led. She’s someone who has spent much of her life caring for others, creating for others, showing up for others, and this time was about finally allowing herself to receive that same care back.

Over the three weeks, we watched her soften into the process more and more. There were beautiful moments of connection, deep conversations, tears, laughter, friendships formed within the house, and also moments where the weight of everything she had been carrying finally surfaced.

One breathwork session in particular shifted something profoundly. Larissa had held herself together so well the entire stay, always calm, always composed, always putting on a brave face. But when the fear finally came up, she let herself feel it fully instead of carrying it alone. And honestly, that takes a different kind of courage.

What we admire so much about Larissa is the way she has approached this entire chapter of her life. Not from fear, but from deep self-responsibility. She has explored every avenue available to support her healing, blending both western medicine and holistic care with an open mind and a strong intuition about what her body needs.

And somewhere along the way, her diagnosis stopped being the only thing defining her.

She became lighter here. More present. More connected to herself again.

Watching her leave after 21 days looking radiant, grounded and genuinely hopeful for what’s ahead was incredibly special for all of us.

Larissa, thank you for trusting us twice now. Thank you for letting people witness your strength, your vulnerability and your heart.💙
