Toyoshinkyu’s roots go back to 1927, when Sorei Yanagiya founded Sorei Shinkyu Juku, which later developed into Toyoshinkyu College of Oriental Medicine. Yanagiya is recognized as an important figure in modern Japanese acupuncture and moxibustion, and Toyoshinkyu continues to carry forward a strong emphasis on classical study, practical technique, and clinical training.
