The OT lens is nuanced, contextual, and deeply human.

At Bespoke OT, we prioritise depth over volume and quality over churn. We believe meaningful assessment goes beyond checklists and assumptions, taking the time to truly understand the person, their environment, their nervous system, and the realities of daily life.

Our assessments are comprehensive, defensible, and grounded in real-world function, because meaningful support begins with accurate understanding.

We are particularly passionate about working within complexity and value genuine connection with participants, families, support teams, schools, health professionals, and referrers.

You can visit us in Booragoon, online, or let us come to you (Perth metro).

ARFID is often misunderstood as defiance or “picky eating,” but the reality is far more complex.
When a child wants to eat but feels unable to, it’s not a lack of effort, it’s a nervous system response rooted in safety, sensory processing, and past experiences with food.
At its core, ARFID is not about behavior; rather, It’s about regulation.
Understanding this distinction changes how we respond, shifting from pressure to support, and from frustration to informed care.
Meaningful progress begins with accurate understanding.

We value collaborative, neuroaffirming, and family-centred care, particularly when supporting complex feeding and sensory presentations in young people.

If you would like to better understand ARFID or explore how we may support, reach out.

Life is complex.
Context matters.
Environment matters.
History matters.

A therapy plan and a Functional Capacity Assessment should reflect that. At Bespoke OT, we take the time to understand the full picture because genuine value is not obtained in a rush.

True progress is created through careful listening, thoughtful clinical reasoning, and tailored recommendations that actually fit your life. We prioritise clinical integrity over volume to ensure your support is as robust as it is human.

Seeing beneath the mask...

The effort to regulate.
The effort to plan.
The workup to leave the house.
The effort to show up and integrate socially.

Living with psychosocial disability, trauma, and neurodivergence often means expending unseen energy for outcomes others seem to achieve more effortlessly.

We see that invisible labour. And where possible, we help lighten the load; through practical supports, environmental adjustments, and strategies which conserve capacity.

Some days feel manageable.
Other days, even the basics feel heavy.

Both are real.

For many people, particularly with psychosocial disability, trauma, autistic burnout, or ADHD, capacity fluctuates day to day.

Good assessment reflects that full picture, not just the “good” days.
Support that flexes alongside a person tends to be the support that lasts.

If therapy doesn’t feel safe, it doesn’t work.

For many people we support, “complex history” is not just a phrase; it is lived experience and it impacts every relationship.

Our clinicians:
• prioritise regulation before goals
• collaborate instead of dictate
• work at the nervous system’s pace
• ensure choice and control

Clinical skill matters.
But relational work trumps all. Safety first. Always.

It’s not laziness.
It’s not a lack of motivation.

Sometimes it’s that frustrating gap between knowing what to do… and being able to start.

When that gap understood how the brain works, what’s getting in the way, things can begin to shift.

Small, practical strategies.
Less pressure.
A different way of approaching the task.

Independence often grows from working with your nervous system, not against it.

Sometimes what looks like disengagement is something else entirely, sensory overwhelm, or the quiet fatigue that comes with holding it all together.

When those pieces are understood in context, the person, their environment, and what’s being asked of them, things often start to make more sense.

From there, the focus shifts to small, practical adjustments that support daily life to feel more manageable.

The aim is to move beyond insight alone, towards changes that genuinely make everyday life feel a little easier.

There is so much work happening beneath the surface that others might not see.

The effort to regulate.
The effort to plan.
The effort to leave the house.
The effort to simply keep going.
The effort to show up and integrate.

Living with psychosocial disability often means expending twice the energy for outcomes others achieve more effortlessly.

We see that invisible labour. And where possible, we help lighten the load; through practical supports, environmental adjustments, and strategies which conserve your capacity.

You deserve support that acknowledges the weight you’re already carrying. 🎒

Recovery isn’t linear.
And neither is capacity.
Some days you’re managing beautifully.
Other days, the basics feel heavy.
That fluctuation is real; especially in psychosocial disability, complex trauma, autistic burnout, and ADHD.

At Bespoke OT, we advocate for NDIS funding which reflects the full picture; not just your best day.

Our reports are robust, evidence-based and defensible; but always grounded in lived experience.

Support should flex with you and represent your true needs. 📉
