๐ R U OK? Day is Thursday ๐
Lifeโs ups and downs happen to all of us. Relationship changes, financial stress, health issues, work, family or other big changes can sometimes make things feel a little harder.
The people around us wonโt always tell us when something is troubling them, which is why checking in can make such a difference.
Not sure how to ask? Try these 4 simple steps:
๐ฌ 1. Ask R U OK?
Choose a time when you can give them your full attention and ask how theyโre really going.
๐ 2. Listen
Take the time to listen without judgement. You donโt need to have all the answers.
๐ 3. Encourage action
If theyโre not okay, ask what support they might need and encourage them to take a positive next step.
๐ฒ 4. Check in
Donโt let the conversation end there. Follow up and let them know youโre still there.
Sometimes, giving someone the opportunity to talk can be the first step towards getting the support they need.
You donโt have to be an expert. Just be willing to ask, listen and care. ๐
