Winter is when aluminium windows get exposed.
In parts of Australia, cold frames, perimeter discomfort and condensation issues often show up first, not in modelling, but after people move in.
The problem usually isn’t the glass. Aluminium is a very good conductor of heat, so heat can flow straight out through the window frame, bypassing insulation. Even high‑quality glazing can be undermined if the frame becomes a thermal shortcut.
That shows up as:
❄️ Cold zones near windows
❄️ Discomfort, even in heated rooms
❄️ Condensation on frames
Thermally broken aluminium frames help by interrupting that heat flow. In winter, that means warmer internal frame surfaces, improved comfort near the glazing, and a reduced risk of condensation affecting finishes.
In Australian climates, winter performance is about occupant experience and durability, not just efficiency and compliance.
