What is Daffodil Day, and why does it matter? 💛
Daffodil Day is Cancer Council’s annual fundraising campaign, raising vital funds for cancer research, prevention programs and support for Australians affected by cancer.
But behind every statistic is a person whose everyday life has changed.
A diagnosis can suddenly fill the calendar with appointments, treatments and uncertainty. It can affect energy, independence, routines, relationships and the simple things that once felt effortless. And the impact is often felt just as heavily by the family members and carers supporting them.
That is where the right community care can make a meaningful difference.
At Toma Health, community care is about helping people continue living their life while navigating illness, treatment or recovery. Support may include:
✔️ Transport and assistance getting to medical appointments
✔️ Help with everyday activities at home
✔️ Community access and maintaining social connection
✔️ Companionship and regular check-ins
✔️ Support that helps preserve independence and routine
Sometimes care is not about changing someone's whole world. It is making sure they do not have to navigate a difficult chapter of it alone.
This Daffodil Day, 20 August, we are thinking of every person living with cancer, every person in recovery, and every family member, friend and carer standing beside them.
And we hope for a future where fewer families ever have to hear the words, “you have cancer.” 💛
