Great to be part of the inaugural Harvesting Health Event at Gunbower Butter Factory, bringing farmers, their families and community members together with a shared focus on supporting the health and wellbeing of our farming communities.

Having grown up on a farm in Bunnaloo, this one was particularly close to home, and APLUS Pharmacy Education was only too happy to jump on board.

It was also wonderful to see so many healthcare professionals and services come together, connect and collaborate on the day. That collaboration is so important in regional communities and ultimately helps us provide better, more connected care.

And a timely reminder as we head into spring and harvest, if you’re a farmer living with asthma or hay fever, you don’t have to simply put up with your symptoms. Come and see me at Moama Health Clinic for support with your asthma, hay fever or respiratory health or speak with your doctor or pharmacist about the best treatment options for you.

On Tuesday night, APLUS Pharmacy Education delivered our third Educational Dinner Meeting in Geelong, bringing healthcare professionals together to discuss the latest Australian asthma guideline updates.
This meeting was particularly special. Geelong is home to Lachlan Kennedy, father of Zoe Kennedy, whose life was tragically lost to asthma in 2020 at just 13 years of age.
Determined to honour Zoe’s memory, the Kennedy family, together with Figurehead Group, established the Zoe Kennedy Foundation in 2021 turning unimaginable heartbreak into a commitment to greater asthma awareness, education and prevention.
Last night, Lachlan bravely shared Zoe’s story with the room. He spoke about a legacy that is bigger than remembrance one that can inspire action, strengthen communities and help create a future where lives are saved through greater awareness, prevention and care.
It is the WHY we created this educational dinner meeting series together.
There was such a genuine sense of connection in the room, healthcare professionals from across disciplines coming together, learning together and sharing a commitment to improving asthma care in our communities.
Thank you, Lachy, for trusting us with Zoe’s story and for sharing it so openly. And thank you to every healthcare professional who joined us last night and contributed to such a warm and meaningful evening.
This is collaboration with purpose, turning education into conversations, conversations into action, and action into better asthma care.

A big thank you to 777 pharmacy group for inviting Debbie Rigby and me to present to the 777 Pharmacy Group on two areas we are both incredibly passionate about: respiratory and allergic disease care in community pharmacy.
I was particularly honoured to present alongside the esteemed Debbie Rigby, whose contribution to respiratory care and pharmacy practice is so highly regarded. Debbie provided an important update on the Australian asthma guidelines, while I explored allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and atopic dermatitis (eczema) and the professional service opportunities within pharmacy.
As Andrew Silvan (owner/pharmacist Pharmacy 777 East Perth) states in Retail Pharmacy Magazine , hay fever is his most successful OTC category and I think many of us in community pharmacy would agree. It poses an exciting question:
How can you elevate your already successful hay fever category and make it a gateway to better allergy, atopy and respiratory care differentiating your pharmacy through education, management plans and meaningful follow-up?

It was great to attend GPCE (General Practice Conference & Exhibition) Melbourne last weekend with Clint Flanigan. With GPCE and the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) conference unfortunately falling on the same weekend, we chose the conference a little closer to home this time. GPCE provided a fantastic opportunity to connect with a broad mix of healthcare professionals working across primary care, and the PSA conference next year is definitely on the list!
As our work continues to expand across pharmacy, general practice and multidisciplinary education, we really valued the opportunity to hear different perspectives, explore the latest developments in primary healthcare and connect with GPs and other health professionals.
A real highlight was the opportunity to meet Dr Amanda Lucci, RACGP and member of the National Asthma Council Australia Guidelines Committee (pictured) along with Rhonda Cleveland, CEO of the National Asthma Council Australia after Dr Lucci's excellent presentation: Asthma in 2026: Practical Updates from the Australian Asthma Handbook.
We’re very fortunate to have conferences that bring healthcare professionals together, encourage collaboration and keep the focus firmly on translating the latest evidence and guidelines into better patient care.
