Lice doctors was founded by Janine Heard who has 30 years hair dressing experience. Janine Heard started LiceDoctors as a treatment and consultancy service in 2004 after recognising the ongoing problems parents were having to break the lice cycle and ultimately rid their family of lice. Using only natural, highly effective products, LiceDoctors has a proven technique that kills lice and equally as

important also prevents reinfestation. This is undertaken in a two step method addressing the most important aspects to breaking the lice cycle by:

1. Using a Lice Doctor treatment that kills the EGGS as well as adult lice.

2. Educating parents to ensure correct, meticulous application of LiceDoctors' product so the eggs do not hatch. LiceDoctors also provides an educational service during treatment to ensure parents understand the life cycle of lice and correct techniques to apply. Re-infestation can still occur as simply by standing close to an infected
person headlice can transfer via the hair's static electricity to other heads. However, to prevent another outbreak, a 'comb out' technique is taught to parents to check for any stray lice after family members have had contact with other children. So, remember the Top Three Reasons to try LiceDoctors:

1. Education to prevent reinfestation

LiceDoctors' specialists also cover truths and myths concerning lice and the steps necessary to sterilize your home after lice infestation and it's not as involved as you might think!

Ever wondered why we wrap heads in cling wrap? It's not for the aesthetic (although the kids do love it).

Here's the science bit:

It holds the treatment right where it needs to be, roots to tips, instead of dripping onto foreheads, eyes and school uniforms.

It traps the natural warmth of the scalp, which helps the formula work the way it's meant to.

It stops the product drying out mid treatment, so every strand stays coated for the full application time.

And it keeps the lice contained. No wandering, no re-homing.

Killing lice isn't the same as getting rid of lice.

This is where most families get stuck. They treat the bugs and then two weeks later the scratching starts again.

That's because lice are really three problems, not one:

1. The bugs crawling around right now.
2. The eggs already glued to the hair waiting to hatch.
3. Reinfestation. The classroom, the sleepover, the shared hat.

Solve one and ignore the other two, and you're back where you started.

That's why the LiceDoctors range covers everything. Our treatment kills the bugs and the eggs, and our Prevention Spray takes care of keeping treated hair off the menu.

Found lice today? Don't panic. Head to our website for a step-by-step application guide, follow along, and you can be finished with lice by tonight.

How do you actually know it's lice? 4 signs to look for.

1. Bugs in the hair. Baby lice are nearly invisible, and even fully grown they're only the size of a sesame seed. They rarely leave the head unless they're moving to a new one. So if you're finding multiple bugs in your child's hair and wondering whether it's lice, we'll save you the googling. It is.

2. Nits. Nits are just lice eggs, and they're usually the first thing you'll spot. They show up well before you see any actual lice, and long before the itching starts. If it's stuck to the hair and won't flick off, that's your answer.

3. Itching. Sometimes. Most parents don't know that plenty of people don't itch at all for the first month. The itch isn't from lice crawling around, it's an allergic reaction to their saliva, and that reaction takes time to kick in. So "no itching" doesn't mean "no lice."

4. A rash or red bumps. Some people call these lice bites. They're not really bites, just that same allergic reaction showing up on the skin. And for some kids, the rash appears before the itching does.

The takeaway? Don't wait for the scratching to start. A quick weekly check will catch lice.

And if you do find something, we've got you covered.

Lice grab hair, but this makes it harder.

Our Preventative Spray creates an antistatic barrier on the hair, the surface lice rely on to grip and transfer. A few spritzes before school, on dry or damp hair, and you are good to go.

Bonus is it smells like fresh citrus.

If you've never seen what comes out, this is it.

Confronting the first time - and completely normal. Every family we see has the same reaction, then the same relief.
It's not a hygiene problem. It's a school problem. And it's fixable.
