Hi 👋🏼 I'm Lynsey, from The Manchester Mums Movement

Your local MumSafe Trainer looking after mums of South Manchester and surrounds.

I offer classes and Personal Training for mums to be, new mums and beyond.

As a MumSafe Trainer and advocate for improved maternal care, I am committed to giving as much support and evidence based knowledge to mums as I can, to give them autonomy to move in ways that improve their pre/postpartum journey.

Here's a few fun facts about me:

⭐️ I love reading and bargain hunting - it's my superpower
⭐️ I do not like bad coffee and bad spicy margs, no one has time for that!
⭐️ My favourite food is goats cheese and honey pizza, can't really go wrong.
⭐️ When I'm not training mums you will find me singing (in the car)
⭐️ My favourite type of exercise is hanging out upside down at a Yoga class

To join me & my amazing community of mums, head to my profile at www.mumsafemovement.com and search 👉🏽 Manchester, UK.

I can't wait to meet you and your little one!

When mums walk into a training space, they’re carrying so much more than just their body.

They’re carrying the mental load, the constant juggling and sometimes years of pressure to just keep pushing through even when slowing down would actually feel more supportive.

As a MumSafe™ trainer, this is something I see all the time.

Movement was never meant to be another place where you have to prove yourself. It can be a space where you reconnect with your body, feel supported and move in a way that actually respects where you’re at right now.

If this sounds like the kind of space you’ve been looking for, head to mumsafemovement.com to find your local trainer ❤️

Here's something nobody tells you when you're pregnant: the postpartum period needs its own preparation.

The birth classes, the hospital bags, the tiny onesies, all of it gets attention. But how you'll feel in your body and mind after your baby is born?

Starting to connect with your pelvic floor during pregnancy (with a Pelvic Health Physio's guidance) can change your recovery experience. Having a mental health plan - knowing who you'll call, what support is available, where to turn means you're not scrambling when emotions hit hard.

Your body has grown, carried and birthed a baby and recovery is yours to define.

We're here to support you through every stage of it with certified MumSafe Trainers who specialise in exactly this and a community of mums who get it ❤️

Postpartum preparation is just as important as birth itself. Learn how to support your body and mind with these three essential tips for a smoother recovery after childbirth.

Some mums don’t realise they have a prolapse because the early signs are so subtle.
Heaviness, pressure, wobbly pelvic floor muscles or feeling “different” at the end of the day can be easy to ignore when life is already full.

But you’re not meant to figure this out alone. With the right support and a pelvic health physio and exercise professional in your corner prolapse becomes something you can understand and manage with confidence, not fear.

If you’ve noticed any changes and want guidance that feels safe and supportive, head to mumsafemovement.com to find your local trainer ❤️

Many mums are surprised at how quickly weight drops when they start GLP-1s - but fast loss isn’t always healthy loss.

GLP-1 medications can reduce appetite so much that some women end up eating far less than they realise. Without enough protein or strength work, the body doesn’t just lose fat, it loses muscle too.

And muscle is the very thing that supports metabolism, bone health, energy and long-term strength.

With the right training approach mums can lose weight and keep the muscle that matters most.

✨ Strength training 2–3× per week
✨ Adequate daily protein
✨ Hydration + fibre
✨ Slower, steadier weight loss
✨ Education and supervision from a qualified trainer

This is a topic we unpacked deeply during our MumSafe™ workshop led by Endocrinologist Dr Isobelle Smith where we explored what mums really need to know about GLP-1 medications and safe weight loss. The message was clear: strong, informed support protects women far beyond the scales.

There’s so much focus in postpartum recovery on “the gap”, how wide it is, how fast it closes, how many fingers fit. And while abdominal separation is absolutely real and important to understand, it’s only one small piece of the puzzle.

What we’ve seen after supporting so many mums is this: the size of the gap tells us far less than how your body is actually functioning day to day.

Are you breathing into your chest instead of down into your core? Is your lower back or your glutes taking over because your deeper core muscles aren’t properly reconnecting yet? Are workouts leaving you feeling worse instead of stronger?

Those are the things that really matter. And they’re exactly what a MumSafe™ Trainer is trained to help you understand and work through.

We’re not here to hand you a scary list of exercises to avoid forever. We’re here to help you feel confident in your body again, move in ways that support your recovery, and build strength that lasts long term.

Read the article below whether you had your baby six weeks ago or six years ago, there's something in there for you ❤️

Understanding your menstrual cycle can make movement feel so much less frustrating and so much more supportive.

Through our ongoing MumSafe™ education with women’s health professionals like Nardia Norman, we learn how each phase of the cycle can affect your energy, strength, motivation and even how connected you feel to movement as a mum.

Some parts of your cycle may leave you craving slower, gentler movement. Other times, you might feel stronger, more energised and more capable in your training. And before your period, it’s completely normal to notice more fatigue, sensitivity or lower motivation.

It means your body is working exactly as it’s designed to.

When you learn to move with your cycle instead of against it, exercise can start to feel calmer, more supportive and far more empowering not like something you constantly have to force yourself through.

If you’d love more support with movement through every season of your cycle, head to mumsafemovement.com to find your local trainer ❤️

If your algorithm is also serving you trainers swearing white bread is better than multigrain because it's "lower calorie”, same

Our trainer Toni of went there in her video and honestly, every mum needs to hear it

So many of these weight loss programs are quietly swapping whole foods for processed ones, slapping "high protein" on the label, and calling it a transformation. What they're not telling you is what your body loses in the process. Fibre, iron, zinc, the nutrients your gut and hormones actually need to function

And for mums in their perimenopause years, fibre is the thing helping your body clear excess estrogen. Take it away and you're not just losing weight, you're inviting the cravings, the belly fat, the mood swings, the PMS that feels like it's getting worse every cycle

Her take is the one we wish more trainers had. Aim for 80% whole foods, 20% the convenient or indulgent stuff, and stop letting a macro calculator dressed up as a coach run your nutrition

This is the standard every MumSafe™ trainer is held to. Head to mumsafemovement.com to find one near you, and follow while you're there ❤️

Many mums were never taught that the menstrual cycle is more than a monthly bleed. It’s actually one of the clearest signs of how your whole body is coping. When your cycle changes whether it’s timing, flow or symptoms, it’s often your body responding to shifts in stress, sleep, nutrition or recovery, not a sign that something is wrong.

In our ongoing MumSafe™ education with women’s health professionals like Nardia Norman, we explore how the cycle acts as a vital sign. When mums understand their personal “normal,” they feel more supported in their training, energy and overall wellbeing.

At MumSafe we help mums tune into these signals so movement feels safer, more informed and more sustainable across every season of womanhood.
