For some people, left/right hemisphere dominance is quite obvious. Our brains also go through phases of development, right brain develops most in early childhood, with left brain developing more from 2 onwards. So they could go through stages of seeming very 'right brain', or very 'left brain' based on that.
If your child loves to line up all their toys, and have everything in 'order' (it may not look like it but it's order to them), and they know when something has been moved, or they're great at maths and take things very literally, or see in 'black and white', they could be left brain dominant.
If their rooms are always messy, but they know where everything is, or they love to draw/paint/create, they respond to music and love to move their bodies and feel things very deeply, or are very good at reading people without them having to speak, then they could be more right brain dominant.
It's not an issue, unless they are extremely lacking in one area; in which case it's important to work on strengthening that hemisphere if their brain to 'even them up'.
