I don’t take things “just because they’re good for you.” Everything has a role, a reason, and a window where it actually makes sense.
Right now, this is what my body is asking for.
Zinc — for during & post cold, zinc is crucial for over 300 enzymatic reactions in the body — many to do with immunity. During and after a cold, zinc stores are zapped dry and loss of taste occurs. Skin, repair, immune signalling, even taste and appetite… it touches more than most people realise.
Methylated B vitamin complex — are there to support energy properly but with that over-stimulated mumma life — I’ve been experience that classic “wired but flat” feeling as my b-vitamins deplete quicker.
Magnesium with theanine — This is to shhh that racing mind at the end of the day and bring about a deeper, more restorative sleep (especially when waking for breastfeeding!). I’ve only been taking this for a few days and it has already restored my energy MASSIVELY! Particularly first thing in the morning!
Omega 3s — essential and deeply supportive for mood, skin, hormones, and cell membranes. I’ve been breastfeeding for 4 years now and have experienced dry skin and brain fog of late (tell tale depletion signs). This is to stock back up.
The probiotic is specific — there are so many different strains of probiotic for numerous different functions. There is no one-size fits all. This strain of lactobacillus has been proven to support both my gut and immune function and also pass on that flora to Bub’s developing gut diversity.
Bacopa (CDRI 08) — is in for cognitive support. Think focus, clarity, and a calmer mind without pushing the system harder. Especially in seasons of a lot of mental load. A bit of an experiment this month but I thought it was worth a go!
None of this is about doing more. It’s about being targeted. Supplements should feel like support — not another layer of noise.
