Origin Pain Relief™ follows the driver, not just the loudest symptom.

We follow the line of pain and restriction through origins and insertions, ligaments, fascia, tendons, different tissue layers and joint movement to find what is still holding the body back.

Then the precision matters.

Every Origin manoeuvre has a particular contact point, angle, depth and direction. The contact may change through different parts of the hand. Pressure may become lighter or deeper. The angle may shift slightly.

Sometimes only a few millimetres separates no change from an immediate response.

Move the client. Check the pain. If it is still there, follow it again.

Knowing a move is not the same as knowing how to treat.

Jaw clenching, jaw pain and tension rarely exist in isolation.

What looks like a tight jaw can sit alongside neck tension, protective holding, stress, altered movement and a much bigger pain picture.

Sometimes emotion surfaces during treatment too.

But I’m not there to chase an emotional release.

I’m there to understand why the tissue is responding, what is driving the pain, and what actually needs to change.

I’ve worked with pain for more than 30 years, and this is what I want practitioners to understand:

Knowing where to put your hands is not enough.

You need to know:

what you’re feeling
why you’re treating that area
how much pressure to use
what the tissue is telling you
and what needs to change next

That’s the difference between copying a technique and actually knowing how to treat.

TEST, DON’T GUESS

The right test. For the right person. For the right reason.

Symptoms can tell us that something is wrong, but they do not always tell us why.

Fatigue may be connected to iron, thyroid function, blood glucose, nutrient deficiencies, hormones, cortisol patterns, poor sleep, gut health, medications—or several factors working together.

Bloating may involve digestion, the microbiome, food reactions, inflammation or poor nutrient absorption.

Brain fog, mood changes, weight resistance and poor recovery can also have more than one contributing factor.

That is why I test when the result will help answer a clear clinical question.

Depending on the individual, I may review existing pathology or recommend further investigation such as microbiome mapping, organic acids testing, hormone and cortisol testing, DNA and methylation, pharmacogenomics or mineral analysis.

I do not order every available test for every client.

I choose the testing that fits the person’s symptoms, history, medications and previous results. Sometimes no additional testing is needed. Sometimes one well-chosen test can provide the missing information.

Functional testing should give us clearer direction—not simply produce an expensive folder of results.

COLONOSCOPY CLEAR.ULTRASOUND CLEAR.STILL UNWELL?

Ruling out disease is essential.
It does not always explain the symptoms.

Many people come to me after years of searching for answers.

They have seen their doctor, undergone blood tests, had an ultrasound, gastroscopy or colonoscopy and been told that everything looks clear.

That is reassuring—but they are still bloated, constipated, exhausted, reacting to food, struggling with reflux, experiencing abdominal pain or feeling generally unwell.

So, what is the difference between seeing a gastroenterologist and seeing me?

A gastroenterologist’s role is essential. They investigate, diagnose and manage gastrointestinal diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease, ulcers, coeliac disease, polyps, bleeding and bowel cancer. A colonoscopy is designed to examine the lining of the bowel and identify visible disease or structural abnormalities.

My role begins from a different question:
If major disease has been ruled out, what may still be affecting how this person’s gut is functioning?

I take time to examine the entire pattern, including:

When the symptoms began
Previous infections and antibiotic use
Bloating, pain and bowel patterns
Food reactions and dietary restrictions
Medications and supplements
Reflux and digestive function
Nutrient absorption and deficiencies
Stress and nervous-system patterns
Hormones, thyroid and blood glucose
Existing pathology and previous investigations

When clinically appropriate, I may recommend targeted testing such as microbiome mapping or other functional investigations. I do not order every test for every person. The testing must answer a relevant clinical question.

This is often why doctors send people to me.

They have completed the important medical investigations and ruled out serious disease, but the patient still needs someone to examine the functional, nutritional and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to their symptoms.

We are not competing. We are doing different parts of the work.

I communicate with doctors when further medical investigation is needed, and I refer clients back immediately when symptoms raise concerns that require medical care.

The goal is not to claim that conventional testing has failed. The goal is to continue investigating appropriately when the person is still unwell.

For many clients, this joined-up approach is the first time the pieces have been reviewed together. After years of searching, we can finally develop a plan based on their history, results and individual pattern.
