Happy Birthday, Dad.

You’ve been gone for twenty two years now.

Somehow, I’ve spent more of my life without you than with you.

It’s a strange thing to realise.

It’s an even stranger thing to admit that despite everything, I still love you.

Today I found myself reflecting on our relationship, the memories I have, the many I don’t, and the questions that only seemed to arrive much later in life.

I ended up writing the whole story.

If you’d like to read it, head to the link in my bio.

Happy Birthday.

Despite everything, I still love you. ❤️

Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me it’s often the ordinary moments that mean the most.

Olivia messaged to say that Andy had been asking for me all day, which I absolutely loved.

I took Mum out for lunch. She insisted she wanted Mexican, then proceeded to try and order a toasted sandwich. 😂

I parked back in my own garage for the first time in 18 months. Yippee

And later, I got to spend the evening with my beautiful granddaughter.

None of those things would make the headlines.

But they made me smile.

I’m learning not to overlook the ordinary. Quite often, that’s where the good stuff is. ❤️

I sometimes think we live a thousand different lives in one lifetime.

We are the child we once were.
The teenager.
The young woman finding her way.
The woman who loved.
The woman who lost.
The woman who got it wrong.
The woman who got it right.

And all the versions in between.

None of them disappear.

They travel with us.

Every experience, every heartbreak, every triumph, every lesson leaves its mark.

And one day you look in the mirror and realise you are not just one woman.

You are a collection of every woman you have ever been.

And perhaps the greatest gift of all those versions of myself is this

I quite like the woman I’ve become.

❤️

Today I needed a little help.

I had a special event being filmed at the studio and put the call out to my clients, asking if anyone would be willing to come along and bring the energy that makes Bend It with Bendle what it is.

To say I was overwhelmed would be an understatement.

The people just kept streaming through the door.

I am so fortunate to have clients who have become friends, and a community that genuinely gets behind me when I need them.

The room was filled with enthusiasm as I put everyone through a pretty gruelling workout. They interacted, embraced the day in support of me, and did it all with incredible energy and good humour.

A special thank you to Claire, who had an important appointment today but still made the effort to join us for most of the class.

And to Amanda, thank you not only for joining us today, but for so generously opening your home and allowing the day to continue beyond the studio. You’re the friend who always has my back, and I appreciate you more than you know.

The filming crew commented several times on what a beautiful group of women were in the room and what a wonderful community has been built here at Bend It with Bendle.

I couldn’t agree more.

Thank you to every single one of you who came along today. What we have here is so much more than exercise. ❤️

And if you’ve been thinking about joining us, maybe this is your sign.

5 classes for $55.

Send me a message if you’d like to join us.

I think confidence changes as we get older.

You stop apologising for the tired eyes.
The lived-in face.
The softness.
The strength.

You just become more yourself.

And strangely…
that feels far more beautiful.

I’ve created a life and space where you can exhale.

A place that feels less like performance…
and more like coming home to yourself.

I’m very selective about the brands and products I align myself with, so when AgeMate approached me, it was a very easy yes.

As someone who has spent decades helping people move, feel stronger, age well and stay active, I’m passionate about anything that supports health, energy, recovery and longevity in a realistic and sustainable way.

I’ve genuinely enjoyed incorporating AgeMate into my own routine, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with a brand whose message aligns so closely with my own philosophy around movement, wellbeing and ageing well.

Very excited to finally share this campaign with you all. I hope you love it as much as I do.

Colin was my friend.

Age has no bearing when hearts and minds truly meet. Connection is connection.

At 63, Colin joined my Pilates classes.
Today he is 90.

Over 27 years he became so much more than a client. He became a deeply valued friend and one of the most extraordinary people I’ve ever known.

Intelligent. Curious. Articulate. Kind. Elegant.

And wonderfully cheeky.

Colin loved stirring the girls up in class. Every now and then he would throw out, “Women belong in the kitchen,” purely to get a reaction, then sit back smiling while everyone argued with him.

That was Colin.

Sharp. Funny. Mischievous. Charming.

Last Thursday he rang to tell me he was leaving the Peninsula to move closer to family in Bendigo.

Part of me felt relief knowing he would now be cared for and surrounded by family.

Part of me felt heartbreak because I knew how much I would miss him.

Last Friday I popped in to say goodbye.

I held back the tears while I was there.

But cried my eyes out when I got back to my car.

Because some people leave footprints on your heart that never really fade.
