🌟 Long Weekend Reminder 🌟

This year’s global focus is on improving early and accurate diagnosis for people living with Multiple Sclerosis.

At Effect Exercise & Rehabilitation, we support many clients living with MS as part of our neurological rehabilitation services.

While diagnosis is an important first step, ongoing support is where real change continues—helping people manage symptoms, maintain function, and stay independent for as long as possible.

🚨 Australians are still paying GST on Exercise Physiology services — and it needs to change.

Despite being recognised by Medicare, DVA, NDIS, and private health insurers, Exercise Physiology remains subject to GST... meaning people pay an extra 10% every visit for essential healthcare.
This creates:
❌ Higher healthcare costs
❌ Reduced access to preventative care
❌ Additional barriers for vulnerable Australians

When GST was introduced in 2000, Exercise Physiology was still an emerging profession and missed out as being a GST exempt health service unlike other services (eg. Physio, Chiro, Podiatry).

Exercise Physiologists play a vital role in helping Australians manage:
✅ Diabetes
✅ Cardiovascular disease
✅ Obesity
✅ Mental health conditions
✅ Chronic pain & injury
✅ Disability & healthy ageing
