Most people think they’re “overthinking”…
when really,
their nervous system is overwhelmed.
That’s what I mean when I talk about the lower mind and higher mind.
Not lower as in:
bad,
less worthy,
or failing.
And not higher as in:
spiritually superior,
perfect,
or endlessly positive.
I’m talking about lived states of experience.
The lower mind is more contracted.
It’s the state many people enter when the body is
stressed, dysregulated, traumatised, overwhelmed,
ashamed, hypervigilant, or stuck in survival mode.
This is where we often experience:
fear,
people pleasing,
anger,
shutdown,
numbing,
self sabotage,
control,
or emotional reactivity.
Not because we’re broken —
but because the nervous system is trying to protect us.
The higher mind is a more expanded state.
Not because life suddenly becomes perfect…
but because the body feels safer.
And when the body feels safer,
we naturally gain more access to:
clarity,
presence,
compassion,
connection,
groundedness,
and intentional choice.
That’s why healing isn’t “just mindset.”
It’s trauma work.
nervous system work.
subconscious work.
embodiment work.
It’s learning how to move from survival…
into safety,
connection,
and authenticity 🤍
