Resthaven residents and clients are getting new ideas for staying active, thanks to a group of Adelaide University physiotherapy students. ๐Ÿšถ

During their five-week placement, students worked across several Resthaven sites, developing activities and resources to support healthy ageing. At Resthaven Craigmore, they gave a familiar favourite a twist by creating 'Movement Bingo'.

On Tuesday 15 September, more than 50 residents and staff came together for a morning tea to celebrate the siteโ€™s 40th anniversary.

Thank you to Joan Young, Chair of the Village Residentsโ€™ Committee, for opening the event, and to resident Mrs Dorothy Simmonds, who cut the anniversary cake.

Resthaven Paradise and Eastern Community Services clients recently headed to the National Railway Museum, Port Adelaide for a day out exploring the trains and displays.

A couple of clients even climbed aboard for a short train ride, which they loved! The day finished with lunch at The Birkenhead Tavern, where everyone could sit back and chat over a meal.

Today marks the beginning of Dementia Action Week, and a reminder to make room for the moments that bring joy.

For Resthaven Onkaparinga Community Services client Karen, one of those moments involved a pygmy goat climbing onto her back during a family holiday. ๐Ÿ For Karen's daughter and carer, Tania, seeing her mum so absorbed in the experience was incredibly meaningful, giving the family a memory theyโ€™ll be talking about for a long time.
