Unwind. Release tension. Decompress tight areas. Soften aches and pains. Decrease pressure. Create space. Feel more like yourself again. ✨

These are the intentions behind Unwind.

Not to fix you. Not to fix anything, really. Just to offer one simple layer of care for your body and nervous system.

A small space in your life to move gently, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.

I thought Unwind would be ready for you by now, but the more I create it, the deeper into the layers of unwinding the body I seem to go, and the longer it takes.

And in the spirit of Unwind, I don’t want to add more pressure in order to make it.

So Unwind will be ready when it’s ready.
And I’d love you to join me when it’s here.

There’s a big stretch of time after having a baby where mothers often need far more support than they’re getting.

When the newborn stage is over, but you still haven’t fully recovered. When you’re expected to be fine, but still don’t quite feel like yourself.

Unwind is for this period of motherhood.

It’s a 10 day cocoon for Mothers, a space to tend to your body and nervous system with the kindness and reverence you deserve.

Even when you’re not quite sure you’re allowed to need this kind of care.

So many mothers are trying to build strength on top of tightness, compression, nervous system overload, and exhaustion.

But when the body is constantly holding tension, gripping, or pushing through fatigue, movement can start to feel depleting instead of supportive.

Which is why inside my work, we begin by unwinding first.

By softening tension.
By breathing into different areas of the body.
By gently releasing some of the holding patterns the body has been carrying for too long.

Because once tension begins to release, the body often connects, coordinates, and organises strength more easily than when she feels like she has to hold everything together all the time.

This is what we’ll do in Unwind.

Over 10 days we’ll Unwind some of the tightness, bracing, and exhaustion your body has been carrying, and ease into more space, softness, and release 🤍

We’ll start June 1st.
I’ll have more info for you soon.

I’ve been working on something new. ☺️

Inside my Motherbody Movement membership, I teach a weekly postnatal Pilates class with three parts: Unwind. Connect. Stronger.

And the Unwind section is always the one mums tell me they love most.

It’s where they soften, release tension, and come back into their body.

And so after thinking about it for a looong time, I’m finally making it into its own thing. 👏🏽

It’s called Unwind and it’ll be a 10-day movement and nervous system reset for mums.

Short, daily pre recorded practices, plus two live circles to support integration and help you feel held.

This is for mums who know movement helps, but need something not exhausting, supportive and that actually fits into real life.

We’ll begin at the start of June, heading into Winter.

I’m keeping this round small and intimate.

More details coming soon 🤍

Sometimes birth stays in the body.

Memories on repeat. Echoes. Sensations. Feeling disorientated, or not quite yourself.

If this feels familiar, you’re not alone in it.

Birth can be a deeply challenging experience, and mothers, babies, and families deserve to be held and supported as they make sense of what they’ve been through.

This is the work in prenatal and perinatal dynamics that I’ve been training in with over the past couple of years.

Somatic Birth Integration sessions are how I’m beginning to bring this work more fully into my practice.

If you’d like to understand more, you’re welcome to read via the link in my bio.

Birth doesn’t always go to plan.

Sometimes it’s deeply resourcing and empowering.
And sometimes it’s intense, overwhelming, or just not what we’d expected.

There can be moments of joy. ✨
And also moments that leave us feeling shaken, or changed in ways we didn’t anticipate.

None of this makes you a better or worse mother.
But all of it can leave experiences that are still sitting in the body.

Sometimes it’s not even the birth itself.
It’s everything around it.
Feeding challenges.
Sleep deprivation.
Unexpected health issues.
Injuries.
Lack of support.
The way Life continues to unfold while you’re still trying to recover.

And over time, it can start to feel like something in you hasn’t fully settled.

Like you haven’t completely come back into your body yet.

And you’re left with memories. Echoes. Sensations. Emotions that return again and again.

Because your body remembers.
It holds what you’ve been through.

If this feels familiar, you’re not imagining it.

Take a breath here, if you need to.
And offer yourself a little kindness.

You don’t have to carry this alone. 🤍

✨ Awe. Wonder. Gratitude. Reverence.

One day when I was caring for a new mother these words slipped out as I held her beautiful postpartum belly.

And now these are the words I often find myself saying when I’m caring for a new mum.

I place my hands gently on her belly and pause.
Not to do anything.
Not to fix anything.
Just to recognise what has already happened here.

That a whole entire tiny human has been grown and brought into the world through this body.

Because too often, we forget how remarkable that is.

There’s so much noise around how we feel about our bodies as mothers. So much grief, shame, disappointment, disconnection.

And yet every single Motherbody has done something extraordinary.

So if you’ve ever given birth, I invite you now to pause for a moment.

Place your hands on your belly. Or just bring your attention there.

Take a moment to feel into the Awe. Wonder. Gratitude. Reverence of what this belly, this body has done.

Because it’s pretty incredible.

And she deserves love.

Three months without my dad. 🤍

Grieving whilst Mothering.
Living while grieving.

It’s like being in a parallel universe.
Where the veil is thin.
Yet life carries on.

✨ Last week, in the very early hours of Wednesday morning, my dad breathed his last breath.

Together we stayed with him as he passed over. Time stood still as we watched, waited and held him through his last moments.

Even though in my heart I’d already said goodbye over and over again through the long years of dementia. His passing has profoundly re-arranged my sense of where I fit in the world.

He’s always been there.
And now he’s not.
I’m not sure yet how to make sense of that..

My biggest sadness is that his grandkids won’t get to spend more time with him. He loved reading to them, taking them on train journeys, playing little cars, and eating ice cream with them.

Forever grateful to sit with him last week.
Forever grateful he was my dad.

We’ll miss you dad.
And we’ll remember you too.
Thanks for being my dad.
