The missing piece isn’t effort…

It’s easy to assume you just need to try harder.

But more often, the missing piece is clarity.

When things are explained well, in a way that actually makes sense, people stop second-guessing themselves and start following through.

That’s the difference between information and coaching.

And it’s why we take time to break things down properly, not just prescribe them.

We are adding another layer of support at Ace very soon - helping more people and making your goals more achievable.

More than just a healthcare team…

Yes, we’re here to help you recover from injury, build strength, improve your health and reach your goals. But we’re also the people who remember that holiday you were excited about, ask how your weekend sports game went and celebrate the little wins along the way.

Healthcare isn’t just about assessments, programs and treatment plans - it’s about people.

Whether you’re working towards a marathon, chasing after your kids with less pain, or simply wanting to feel better in your own body; we’re invested in the journey with you.

Helping you reach your goals is our focus, but the moments along the way are just as important for getting there.

Most people have experienced muscle soreness after exercise, typically peaking around 24–48 hours later. This is called Delayed Onset of Muscle Soreness (DOMS).

Some people chase it, others dread it, but DOMS is a normal and healthy response to challenging your muscles. It usually feels like a dull, widespread ache or stiffness that improves as you warm up and move.

Injury-related pain is different. It’s often sharp, localised, associated with swelling, bruising, instability, or pain that can be felt at stillness and might worsen with movement.

Sore muscles after training? Usually normal. Sharp pain, significant swelling, or symptoms that don’t improve? That’s worth getting checked out.

Know the difference, and train with confidence and consult your healthcare team if you’re not sure!

Before your first massage at Ace, your therapist will sit down with you for a quick chat.

Not to fill time. Because it changes everything about the treatment you receive.

We want to know what’s going on! where you’re holding tension, any injuries or areas we need to work around, whether there’s something specific you want us to focus on. And if you’ve got something coming up like a marathon, a big event, or a particularly brutal week at work, that matters too. It shapes the entire session.

A remedial massage isn’t a fixed routine we run through the same way on every person. It’s a clinical treatment. And a clinical treatment only works when it’s tailored to the person on the table.

That pre-massage conversation is how we do that.

It also means the first appointment looks a little different to your tenth. As your therapist gets to know you, your body, your patterns, that initial chat gets shorter. Eventually it becomes a check in. You walk in, we know what you need, and we get straight to work.

But early on? It’s one of the most important parts of the appointment.

Because the better we understand you, the better we can help you.

The scale is lying to you ⬇️

The number on the scale doesn’t tell you if you’re losing fat or losing muscle.

And that difference changes everything.

When you diet without resistance training, caloric restriction alone reduces lean mass (muscle and bone) alongside fat. That means a lower resting metabolism, increased frailty risk, and a harder time maintaining results long term.

Resistance training during a calorie deficit changes the outcome. You lose fat. You keep (or build) the muscle that keeps your metabolism working, your bones strong, and your body functional for decades.

You can hit the same number on the scale with two very different bodies underneath it.

Train for the composition. Not just the number.

Keep track of your progress using our InBody scanner, in clinic. In conjunction with our Exercise Physiologist designed programs you can stay on track, informed and supported.
