Your GP is doing their job. This is about the gaps in the system, not the people in it.

Twelve minutes isn’t enough time to investigate chronic, complex, overlapping symptoms. So a lot goes unexplored-not through lack of care, but lack of time and a framework built around ruling out disease.

Here’s what that looks like in practice:

~ Your TSH comes back normal, but free T3, free T4, and antibodies were never checked.

~ Your ferritin is technically in range. But in range at 14 and in range at 90 feel very different in a body. Reference ranges reflect the general population, not what your body actually needs to function.

~ Your blood sugar is fine. But without fasting insulin, we’re only seeing part of the picture, and insulin resistance can be present and driving symptoms years before glucose moves.

~ Your hormones are normal. But were they tested at the right time in your cycle? Progesterone drawn on day 5 tells us almost nothing. Context matters as much as the number.

Functional nutrition works alongside your GP. We’re not here to replace that relationship.

PMOS (previously called PCOS) is not just a hormone problem. And it’s definitely not just a “lose weight and come back” problem.

When this client came to us, she had high testosterone, high insulin, low SHBG, irregular cycles, hormonal acne, and energy that was running on empty. She’d already been diagnosed, but she hadn’t been given a real plan.

So we looked deeper, and finally got some answers.

Her GI Map showed a significantly depleted microbiome - which affects insulin sensitivity, hormonal regulation, and inflammation.

Over 12 months, with a targeted approach, her results shifted significantly.

Testosterone down, insulin normalised, skin clearing, cycles regulating.

This is not a quick fix, and it took amazing consistency from our client, but she is now set up for the long term.

Big news in the world of hormones this week — PCOS has officially been renamed PMOS. 👀

✨Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome✨

And honestly? It’s about time.

The old name implied cysts. Most women with this condition don’t even have cysts. That one inaccuracy meant years of “your ultrasound looks fine, off you go”, while insulin resistance, inflammation, and metabolic risk went completely unaddressed.
