I wanted to share one of the most nourishing things I love to drink that is so simple, yet effective.

New Substack piece on long-steeped herbal infusions: how to make them, which herbs love the slow method, and why they hydrate differently to plain water.

Hope to see you over there x

On slow hydration, mineral-rich plants and nourishment that builds over time.

A reminder to be discerning about who you let into your head.

The person who says ā€œit dependsā€ often knows far more than the one handing you a five-step cure, it just doesn’t sell as well.

All these hot takes confuse people & I see it day in and day out in my work. So many voices, all so sure of themselves. But the one voice worth coming back to is your own.

Discernment is one of the most important things you can harness in times like these, when we’re so saturated with information. It’s not about knowing everything, it’s about learning to feel what’s true for you, and having the patience to sit with ā€œit depends.ā€

Trust yourself. šŸ¤

Over the years, I’ve worked with this a lot:

Someone who has done the real work of recovery and whose gut is still holding the story. The bloating, the reactivity, the protocols that helped briefly and then didn’t. Sometimes the ones that reawakened the ED - that actually has happened to myself many years ago.

I wrote about it properly, what’s actually happening physiologically, why so much standard gut advice misses the mark here and what a different approach looks like.

It’s probably one of the most personal clinical pieces I’ve written.

Comment HEAL and I’ll send it through. šŸ¤

The sandwich that took years to eat… 🄲

Not because of the food itself but because of everything I believed about the bread.

I spent years strictly avoiding gluten and dairy. What started as self-diagnosed sensitivities in my teens slowly became entangled with an eating disorder, and fear of food became a real symptom.

Many of us don’t realise that research now shows the expectation of gluten can cause real symptoms in people without coeliac disease. The gut-brain connection is that powerful.

This doesn’t dismiss genuine intolerances. Yes, Coeliac disease is real, and some people genuinely need to avoid or moderate certain foods. But for many, the gut can heal. Variety is possible. Food freedom is part of the work.

Healing & what’s healthy looks different for everyone šŸ•Šļø
