SALE OF THE CENTRE FOR MIND BODY WELLNESS

After 10 years of serving our community, the Centre for Mind Body Wellness is looking for a new owner to bring the practice into the next chapter.

If you're interested in purchasing this beautiful practice, to either step in and run as is from day one (it's all set up and ready to go) or make it your own, please get in touch.

The Centre is located in the heart of downtown Mullumbimby, central enough for clients to find easily, with good parking and strong foot traffic, but tucked away enough to offer genuine privacy and confidentiality. People coming and going from the Centre can do so discreetly, which is important in our small community.

Having worked in many spaces across the Shire over the years, I know how rare it is to find a location that ticks all the boxes for therapy - beautiful, central, private, accessible, with parking and purpose-built for the work. This is that space.

I care deeply about this space and the community we've built here, and I look forward to finding the right person to carry it forward.

Have you met our holistic GP, Dr Daniel Jones?

Dr Dan has been in the health profession for 20 years. Having completed a Bachelor of nursing with honours he then went on to study and complete his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).

After working in a number of rural and urban hospitals across Queensland he then moved to north NSW to follow his dream of practicing holistic health care. As such he successfully completed his GP training and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

His interest in mind, body and spirit health led him to study Traditional Chinese Medicine and is a member of the Australian Medical Acupuncture College after finishing his Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture studies.

Dan is passionate about grass roots, community driven health care initiatives and has volunteered overseas in helping build local capacity and to train and empower local health practitioners to provide culturally appropriate and sustainable care.

He is passionate about holistic and preventative health care, believing that health is more than the absence of disease and has dedicated his time to fostering client education, empowerment and ultimately conscious wellbeing.

Meet Suzy Gavey!

Suzy is a masters-trained Gestalt-psychotherapist who resonates deeply with the concept of psychotherapy as soul healing.

Gestalt therapy offers a place where individuals can honestly bring themselves to each moment, developing their own insight and healing within the support of a therapeutic relationship. With a presence of warmth and inclusion, Suzy creates a safe holding for her clients to enquire into themselves and their life circumstance.

Suzy has lived through her own life challenges and initiations. She offers a depth of resource, resilience and humility. She is an advocate for embracing diversity within the human experience. Through Gestalt methodology she supports individuals to inhabit themselves more fully by building personal awareness and acting as an anchor where things may feel a bit rocky.

There is no pressure to fix anything or even to have a final destination. She accompanies her clients on their personal journey to feeling better resourced in their lives and relationships.

Suzy practices anti-oppressive therapy in which people can have deeper conversations with themselves, whilst being witnessed, and skilfully supported, in shifting their perspective on life in order to find greater connection to the life that is unique to them.

Suzy works with individuals, couples and teenagers. In her major Masters paper, she explored Beyond a binary view of gender in psychotherapy: working alongside trans and gender diverse people.

Suzy is also a Licenced WomenSpeak Circle leader and has completed her Level 2 Leadership Training locally with the Rites of Passage Institute, is a qualified Holographic Kinetics practitioner, trained massage therapist, spent three years studying Buddhist methodology and has spent many years sitting in circles with women exploring the inner lineage of ancient feminine wisdom and our innate connection to the earth. Suzy is a poet, gardener and a mother of three sons.

Looking for a psychotherapist? Patrick Twomey is your man!

Born and raised in Ireland, Patrick has called Australia home for more than 30 years. He lives in the hills of Byron Bay with his wife, while his two adult sons are based in Sydney and Berlin.

Patrick spent much of his career in business management before a turning point in 2012, when he began volunteering with Lifeline in Lismore. This experience sparked a deep interest in supporting people with their mental health, leading him to complete a Master’s in Gestalt Psychotherapy in 2020. Since then, he has undertaken further training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Voice Dialogue, and is currently completing a 12-month course in Equine Assisted Mental Health Care.

Patrick’s psychotherapy practice is grounded in Gestalt principles - working in the present moment, fostering acceptance without judgement, and building a trusted therapeutic relationship.
