Ninety minutes is a solid, complete session, plenty of time for Abbey to work through what your body needs that day. The 120-minute option gives additional room when there's more to work through, for deeper transformation or when you'd simply rather not be watching the clock.

Neither is "better." It depends on what your body's asking for right now.

Not sure which suits you? Message Abbey before you book and she'll help you decide

The biggest misconception about Whistling Kite Healing Therapies? That it's somewhere to get an everyday massage but just has a fancy nice name.

It isn't. Massage is one thread in a session, not the whole thing. Depending on what Abbey notices in your body that day, a session might take you through Access Bars®, EFT tapping, energetic work, or some combination you’d be unable to predict before you walked in.

Give Abbey a call to discuss what to expect in a session, because chances are you’ll be surprised.

A Whistling Kite gift voucher solves the “What to get Dad?” problem in a few minutes.
No sizing, no wrapping, no guessing what he actually wants, just permission for him to slow down for ninety minutes and let someone else pay attention to that body of his that's probably been carrying more than he'd ever say out loud.

Buy a gift voucher before Sunday and it's sorted.

At Whistling Kite Healing Therapies, a session starts with Abbey listening, not asking what you'd like. She reads what your body is holding onto, then blends whatever it actually needs: remedial massage, Emmett technique, Access Bars®, EFT tapping, reflexology, energetic work. Sometimes one of those. Sometimes most of them, in the same 90 minutes.

If you've never known what to book, that's nothing to worry about. You don't need to know.

Curious what a session actually feels like? Send Abbey a message, she's happy to talk you through how it works before you book.

Healing has its own pace, and it's usually slower and deeper than the schedule we'd like to hand it.

Bodies release in layers. A system that has spent a decade bracing will let go of exactly as much as it feels safe to release in a given session, and then it needs time - days, sometimes weeks - to integrate before the next layer is ready.

This is why I'd rather see you at well-spaced intervals than hurry you back. The space between sessions is where a great deal of the actual healing happens. Trust the pace your body sets; it has its reasons.

I had a client tell me they'd been sleeping ten hours a night and waking exhausted, sometimes needing to lie down again by lunchtime.

Every test said they were fine. Their body said otherwise.

We worked slowly. Their energy was so depleted that the first session was mostly about helping their system feel safe enough to stop bracing.

Then, somewhere in the sessions that followed, they described a switch flipping, energy returning in a way they hadn't felt for years. Fatigue like that is real even when nothing shows on paper. And no, you don’t need to live with it.

If mornings feel like wading through wet sand, your body is telling you something worth hearing.

"I don't even know what I need - I just know something's off."

If I could frame one sentence, I hear the most it might be that one, because clients say it so often and it's such a typical place to begin.

Knowing what you need is my job. Yours is simply to arrive.

Within the first few minutes of a session your body starts showing me where it's asking for help and which of my tools it will respond to.

Then, I take it from there.

New here? I'm Abbey, and my Whistling Kite Healing Therapies is a quiet room in Nambour. Vague and tired are perfectly good reasons to book a session.

For anyone who's been hovering over the booking button, here is exactly what a first visit looks like.

We start with a brief consultation - health history, medications, what's been happening in your body and in your life. My nursing years make this part thorough.

Then you settle onto the table in a quiet room, and I begin reading what your body presents: where it's guarding, where it's depleted, what kind of treatment it will respond to. The session builds from there, drawn from whichever of my modalities the day calls for.

You'll leave knowing what I found and what I'd suggest next. Some bodies need one or two sessions; others do their best work across several, with space between.

First visits run a bit longer than a standard session, so nothing gets rushed. Any questions, just reach out and I’ll be happy to answer.

I want you to try this right where you're sitting:

Take a deep, gentle breath in through your nose, holding your breath at the top of your head (Crown Chakra) and count to 5, then gently breathe out through your mouth like you are blowing out a candle (do not open your mouth wider); again counting to 5 as you continuously blow.

Repeat this process 3 times, or even several times as you require.

That lengthened exhale is one of the fastest ways you can signal to your nervous system that any danger has passed.

The heart rate settles, shoulders drop a few millimetres, and your jaw softens without even being told to.

Try this long exhale, and notice what shifts. Save and revisit the technique for your next tense moment.

Cool winter mornings change how you carry yourself.

Shoulders creep up somewhere between the car door and the office, and then by ten o'clock there's a band of tension across the top of your back that wasn't noticeable in January.

Our bodies brace against winter, and it's quiet, constant work. The jaw held a little firmer, breath sitting a little higher in the chest, and most people don't notice until something starts to ache.

If your neck has been trying to talk to you this month, it’s worth listening to. Tension that never gets released becomes pattern, and pattern is what I spend most of my days gently undoing.

Where does winter sit in your body?
