Learning to breathe in the presence of your fears πŸ˜‡πŸ’ͺ - negative thoughts, nightmares, memories...

People do not often share when they experience things like nightmares, negative/intrusive thoughts or painful memories... but it does happen and can be a form of internal torture.

The most painful thing about this is that it's all within the mind and that is something we cannot simply escape.

So what to do? How to stop nightmares? How to move past painful memories?

Face them. With love ❀️

Sit with them, do not try and push them away but also do not take them in.

See them for what they are, just thoughts..

Watch them, wrap them in loving awareness and allow them to pass.

What we do not address in the day, comes up at night in the form of dreams or nightmares. It is an unmet need within to find peace with what has happened.

You could use tapping to help, breathwork, meditation... all of these things are great πŸ‘Œ

Just do not fight with your unwanted thoughts, images or memories and do not push them away... as hard and as painful as this might be.

Just breathe 🌬

Learn to breathe in the presence of your fears and they will dissipate on their own ✨️🫢

You are not your mind or those thoughts, but you do experience them, so take charge of the monkey mind and find your peace.

Breathe πŸ˜‡

How we weave πŸ•Έ our own lives ✨️

Have you ever wondered why you keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again?

Or why you feel stuck and like you are going around in circles?

We develop deep core patterns and beliefs during our lives and these are what control how we live, what we think, and how we behave...

Kind of like a computer program πŸ–₯ running the mind 🧠 and body πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ.

Learn how to shift these by first becoming aware of them and then re-writing the program.

🧘 Please join us tomorrow morning for meditation - Online or in studio πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

We live in such a fast paced world and it's easy to lose ourselves.

It's easy to lose why we are doing things, and we may not even know how we got there.

Take this one hour out of your week to allow the dust to settle, to allow yourself to come back into balance.

When you look at an evening sunset πŸŒ… you can see the bugs floating around against the mountain silhouette, you can see the gentle movement of the leaves πŸ‚ upon the breeze, and you can feel the coolness of the earth 🌏...

It is so peaceful, but are you there to see it?

Time: 7-8am
Location: 12 Meelee Street NARRABRI
Date: Sunday 24th May (not 23rd)

All are welcome πŸ™πŸ˜Š

Insight and tips for self-harm and teens - ⚠️ this may be a trigger for some!

It is happening more than we realise, teen girls using self-harm to deal with what's inside of them.

Parents feel lost, confused, helpless.

To prevent this we can raise our children with a strong foundation in how to deal with their thoughts and emotions in a healthy way... of course it's up to the child as well.

But if it's happening now and your teen is using self-harm and they are WILLING to help themselves, here's what you can do...

Teach them about themselves. Their mind and body. Usually they are doing it for one of the below reasons:

> To manage intense emotions - yes it brings relief/distraction, but it is only temporary. Breathing exercises, tapping etc.
> Sense of control - Like they have control over their body. Acceptance helps here.
> Numbness - To feel something. Meditation/grounding exercises.
> Self-punishment - Self-hatred, flaws, mistakes. We must teach forgiveness, acceptance and self-love.

The root cause of all of this is a thought/belief.

CBT (evidence-based) proves this too:

1. Something happens (event, memory, etc)
2. A thought arises
3. Associated feelings and emotions arise
4. Behaviour (action, response, reaction)

We can rarely stop things from happening to us, but we CAN intervene at the next step... thought πŸ’

What you think and believe determines how you act and live your life.

So, we as parents can teach them about their thoughts and mind.

They aren't their mind or body.

They are the one observing these. The pure clear blue sky πŸ’™observing the ⛅️ clouds.

The only trouble is mind and body are running the show instead of who they truly are. Awareness.

So they must learn how to use these tools they have been given (we all do).

Self-awareness, learning to sit with intense emotions, mindfulness, gratitude, knowing that none of us are perfect...

I have placed a simple grounding exercise in the comments below ⬇️ πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

Making peace with your demons 😈 ✨️ 😌

We all have them.

Whether it's fear of something happening, a memory, a person, a circumstance, a thought... whatever form your demon comes in, you can still make peace with it.

Some people are scared of the dark, some are scared of death (most people), some are scared of embarrassing themselves and so on.

The key to freeing yourself of these things is not to avoid, but to make peace with them.

How?

Through acceptance, love, and understanding.

You are far braver and stronger than you realise.

What if it's a person who has done wrong by me?

Well, look into why they are doing those things, ask yourself, put yourself in their shoes. It doesn't mean it's right, but once you gain an understanding of them and of your own faults, you can find compassion, love and even forgiveness.

What if it's a repetitive unwanted image or thought?

Look within yourself and embrace the part of you that is scared, and say, 'hey it's okay, I know you are there to protect me, it is all okay.' And breathe through it until you feel calmer. Accept it's there without wanting to change it, just watch as an observer and allow it to pass.

There is no right or wrong.

Everything just IS.

What about death?

Explore what death really is and who you really are. I can guarantee it's not what you think πŸ˜‰

Be kind and gentle with yourself and others.

The more you push something away, the more it persists.

Embrace, observe, accept, forgive, love and move on πŸ™πŸ˜ˆβ€οΈβœ¨οΈ

Oh and one more thing, follow your heart ❀️

You can never go wrong by following your heart.

Kayla 😘
