So many of you read my article about the estrobolome yesterday - and I have to say, I wasn't expecting quite that much interest!
As of this evening, more than 21,000 people have read it. ❤️
And judging by the comments and messages I've received, there is one question that keeps coming up:
"Okay, Marnie... so what can I actually DO about my estrobolome?"
That's exactly what Part 2 is about - "Healing the Estrobolome: The Foods, Nutrients and Therapies Worth Knowing About"
In this article, we move from understanding the fascinating relationship between your gut, hormones, liver and immune system to the things you can actually do to support your gut.
I take you through my four-pronged approach:
✨ Calm — supporting the gut-brain connection and getting your nervous system out of chronic stress mode
✨ Move — restoring healthy intestinal motility and regular elimination
✨ Nourish — gradually introducing the right kinds of fiber to support your microbiome and healthy estrogen elimination
✨ Feed — giving your gut bacteria the diverse plant foods, polyphenols and fermented foods they need to thrive
I'll also talk about something I think is particularly important:
What do tamoxifen and aromatase inhibitors have to do with your gut microbiome?
And we'll look at some of the supplements and natural compounds that researchers are investigating, including calcium-D-glucarate, I3C and DIM.
But here's what I don't want you to do...
I don't want you to suddenly start taking a dozen supplements, eating enormous amounts of fiber and worrying about every bite of food you put in your mouth.
Your gut is an ecosystem.
The goal isn't to force it into submission. The goal is to create an environment in which it can thrive. 🌱
And you don't have to change everything overnight.
Small, consistent changes can make a meaningful difference over time.
If you've been wondering whether there's anything you can actually do to support your gut, your hormones and your overall health after breast cancer, this is the place to start.
