Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is one of the most complex and under-recognised health challenges in Australia, with around 180,000 Australian's suffering a concussion annually.

Research is finding new treatments for traumatic brain injury but for most families, that knowledge never reaches them.

Connectivity TBI Australia is closing a critical gap — ensuring knowledge reaches the people who need it most.

Let's help those Australians recover well and Tackle Traumatic Brain Injury together.

Did you know that complete rest is NOT recommended following a concussion?

It's actually recommended that you a period of relative rest, during which time a person can take part in light physical activity as long as it doesn't make their symptoms worse.

Let's Tackle TBI together. Connectivity TBI Australia is working towards a world where people living with traumatic brain injury are seen, understood and supported to live well.

You can help by giving a gift before June 30.

Let's Tackle TBI together.

Traumatic brain injury is one of the most complex – and most misunderstood health challenges facing Australians today.

Around 180,000 Australians experience a concussion and 20,000 experience a moderate to severe TBI every year. Researchers are finding new treatments and better ways to support recovery. But for most families, that knowledge never reaches them.

Connectivity TBI Australia is working towards a world where people living with traumatic brain injury are seen, understood and supported to live well.

Give a gift to Connectivity today. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.

UTS is now recruiting for people to join their study! UTS have created a new assessment tool to dynamically assess how people with TBI communicate using technology (e.g. smartphones). This tool will hopefully improve how speech pathologists assess digital communication skills after brain injury and make goal setting and rehabilitation more efficient in this field.
You can learn more about this study here:

Did you know that concussion doesn't just occur in sports?

Only approximately 20% of concussion injuries in Australia are attributed to sports. The remainder come from road traffic accidents, falls, assault, workplace accidents, and family, domestic and interpersonal violence.
