Bruising & Swelling: What you need to know

Bruising and swelling can happen with any treatment, even device-based ones. The face is highly vascular, and those vessels aren't always easy to avoid.

Nurse Steph explains that experience, the device used, and vessel knowledge all help reduce risk, especially around the mouth where vessels sit close to the surface. Anti-inflammatories, aspirin, alcohol, and magnesium can also increase your likelihood of bruising. Preparing with arnica, avoiding these triggers, and icing during treatment can help, but bruising remains a known complication of minimally invasive treatments.

Subfascial breast implants: why this technique is trending

“Subfascial" means the implant sits above the muscle; under the fascia. Dr Murray says renewed interest partly comes from new overseas tools placing implants through a syringe-style device. It may suit some patients, but not all. The fascia offers limited support, and exposure to breast tissue may increase the risk of capsular contracture. Dr Murray follows a 14-point plan, including non-touch technique and Keller funnel use, to help manage this.
