Congratulations to King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) midwife Nicole, who graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in the same week her son, Oliver, completed a double degree. 👏

Nicole returned to Curtin University following more than three decades as a midwife, including the past 29 years at KEMH. She previously completed her Master of Midwifery in 2002.

Nicole's PhD explored the care midwives provide to women experiencing early pregnancy complications.

Nicole said her research investigated how midwives could better contribute to early pregnancy care and, ultimately, improve the experience and care of women and families.

Despite being proud of her own achievement, Nicole said it was the graduation of her oldest son that filled her with the most joy.

Congratulations, Nicole and Oliver! 🎓
