🔵 SEEKING CONTINENCE NURSE / QUALIFIED CLINICIAN – SOUTHERN TASMANIA
Mountain Support Services – New Norfolk / Derwent Valley
Mountain Support Services is seeking expressions of interest from a suitably qualified and experienced Continence Nurse, Registered Nurse with continence experience, or appropriately qualified allied health professional to undertake an NDIS continence-related assistive technology assessment for a participant.
Assessment requirements
The assessment will involve:
✅ Comprehensive bladder and bowel continence assessment
✅ Review of functional and disability-related continence needs
✅ Review of current continence products and their effectiveness
✅ Identification and/or trial of appropriate continence aids and consumables
✅ Skin integrity and associated risk considerations
✅ Recommended daily and annual product quantities
✅ Product and supplier recommendations
✅ Estimated annual consumables costing
✅ Preparation and sign-off of supporting clinical evidence suitable for NDIS purposes
Funding & information available
💰 NDIS funding is available for the professional assessment and associated report writing.
📊 Up to 12 months of existing information on continence product usage, purchasing, and costs can also be provided to the assessing clinician.
This historical information can assist in establishing actual usage patterns, annual product requirements, and realistic cost projections, rather than relying solely on estimated consumption. The participant has been obtaining for more than 30 years, but with current changes, a new assessment is required.
Mountain Support Services has also developed a comprehensive Continence Assessment & NDIS Consumables Costing Template that can be provided to the clinician, or you may utilise your own professional assessment format provided it appropriately addresses the participant's clinical and NDIS evidence requirements.
We are looking for someone who:
• Holds appropriate Australian professional registration/qualifications relevant to the assessment
• Has demonstrated experience in continence assessment and management
• Ideally has experience preparing assessments and recommendations for NDIS participants
• Holds appropriate professional indemnity insurance
• Can provide the service professionally and independently
