We are hiring!

Moreton Group Medical Services is looking for a full-time Administration & Reception Assistant to join our New Town head office.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a busy, varied role, is confident communicating with people, and loves solving problems and keeping things organised.

You will support our healthcare, training and non-emergency patient transport services, assist clients and staff, and take part in a limited after-hours response phone roster one week in four.

We offer four weeks annual leave, plus an additional week of special leave to take before or after our Christmas shutdown.

If this sounds like you, apply through SEEK with your cover letter and resume.

Please feel free to share this opportunity with someone who may be a great fit.

Our head office is proudly operating from the corner of New Town Road and Pedder St New Town. Where we continue the work of providing no cost health care to vulnerable Tasmanians.
Each and every person who undertakes first aid training with us helps to keep our mobile clinics out in the community where they belong. Thank you to everyone who supports our work.

Everything we do supports the provision of outreach healthcare. This week Robert is on the North West Coast providing Paramedical cover for a film crew. Supporting our outreach is as simple as utilising our services. Exceptional service provided by experienced personnel directly supporting provision of outreach healthcare.

Our Outreach Healthcare is supported through our event health work. Each and every time you choose to work with us you directly support the provision of no cost to the patient primary heath care. Robert is providing paramedical support in a remote part of the North West of Tasmania this week. When you are making a choice between providers also consider the impact of your choice and how that organisation gives back to community.

Our long time supporters Friendly Care Advantage Hobart today donated $16,000.00 to support our work! They are a not for profit pharmacy who annually donate huge sums of money to worthy organisations. Supporting them by filling your script increases what they can give back to the community!
If you would like to support us directly follow this link https://moreton.raiselysite.com if you are a business that would like to support us directly send us a message as we are looking for ongoing corporate support to keep the team on the road!

Another team member successfully transitions to an Emergency Ambulance Service!
One of the best parts of our work is seeing our team develop and grow. Transitioning from students to graduates.
Congratulations to another of our Medial Support Officers who has started with Ambulance Tasmania. Two more are soon to start with NSW Ambulance.
We are always happy to see you succeed.

From a recent RACGP article :- ‘At the moment the rhetoric is that primary healthcare is a federal problem, and that’s how it should be funded, and we 100% agree that the Federal Government is responsible for primary healthcare.

‘But the implications of primary healthcare not being supported by the State Government is that the people that we support will end up presenting at the hospitals, and when they present at the hospitals, the state picks up the bill.’

We have a year of support from the State Government thanks to Bridget Archerand Jeremy Rockliff. They have our backs to help advocate for federal funded primary healthcare.

Amid funding cuts and fears patients are falling through cracks, one state government says it cannot ‘keep picking up the tab on services that should be funded by the Commonwealth’.

Some absolutely fantastic news. I’ve just had a call from the Health Minister Bridget Archer. Bridget has stood with us and arranged for transitional funding to support us for the next financial year.

Quite rightly the Premier Jeremy Rockliff and Bridget Archer have spoken about primary healthcare being a Federal Government responsibility.

We have twelve months to work towards sustainable funding. The clock is ticking and the real work starts now.
