Testosterone is about so much more than libido. 💪🧠
When we think about testosterone, sexual health is often the first thing that comes to mind but it supports SO much more!
Healthy testosterone levels help support:
💪 Muscle mass and strength
🦴 Bone density
❤️ Cardiovascular health
🔥 Metabolic health
🧠 Cognitive function
🙂 Mood and motivation
👨‍👩‍👧 Fertility and reproductive health
⚡ Energy, resilience and vitality
⏳ Healthy ageing
Testosterone levels naturally change throughout life, declining levels can start to affect how you feel physically and mentally.
You may notice changes in energy, recovery, motivation, strength, body composition, mood or libido.
The important thing is not to look at one symptom in isolation.
Hormones work together, and testosterone is only one part of the picture.
If you are not feeling like yourself, comment TEST and we will send you the link to a comprehensive hormone test.
Why do this test?
    •    Fitness enthusiasts: Optimise muscle growth, recovery and performance
    •    Anti-aging: Monitor and maintain hormonal balance for longevity and vitality
    •    Energy & drive: Identify causes of fatigue, low motivation and decreased libido
    •    Mental clarity: Support cognitive function through balanced hormones

Are you feeding your gut… or fighting it? 🌱
When gut symptoms show up, it is easy to jump straight into probiotics, antimicrobials, supplements and restrictive diets.
But what if your gut does not actually need more “killing off”?
Sometimes there may be parasites, unwanted bacteria or yeast that need to be addressed.
Other times, the bigger issue may be:
🦠 Low beneficial bacteria
🌿 Low butyrate producing bacteria
🛡️ Secretory IgA out of balance
🔥 Gut inflammation
⚖️ A microbiome that simply needs rebalancing
And sometimes it is a combination of several things.
Think of your gut like garden soil.
If the soil is depleted, inflamed or out of balance, adding more “seeds” is not always enough.
This is where microbiome testing can be useful. It can help us understand whether we need to remove the weeds, feed the soil, calm inflammation, rebuild beneficial flora… or do a little bit of everything. 🧪🌱
Because the goal is not to throw more supplements at your gut.
It is to understand what your gut actually needs.
💬 Comment GUT below and we will send you more information about microbiome testing.

Feeling tired all day… but suddenly wide awake when your head hits the pillow? 😴

Sometimes, the signs that your nervous system needs a little more support can show up in ways we start to think are just “normal”.

You might notice:
✨ You’re exhausted throughout the day, but struggle to switch off at night
✨ You feel like you’re constantly running on adrenaline and never truly rested
✨ Small tasks or everyday demands suddenly feel completely overwhelming

When your body has been under stress for a long time, it can become harder to move between periods of activity and genuine rest.

Rather than continually pushing through, perhaps it is time to ask: What does my body need right now?
To support your nervous system, start with the basics: consistent sleep, nourishing food, movement & scheduled downtime.

Feel you need more than the basics?
Here is where personalised herbal tonics can make a huge difference!

A morning tonic can give your adrenals the support they need to give you energy to get through the day whilst a night time tonic calms your nervous system at night to help you have a deep restful sleep 🌿

DM us your symptoms for personalised nervous system support.

HOW GRAINS IMPACT YOUR HORMONES

One of the changes I often recommend when it comes to supporting hormones & autoimmune issues is reducing grains.

Not because grains are “bad”, but because of how they break down in the body.

Grains are quickly converted into sugar, which can:
 spike your blood sugar
 increase inflammation
 contribute to hormonal imbalance over time

This is where small swaps can make a big difference.

 Swap your breakfast cereal for something based on nuts and seeds, eggs or my absolute fave; rissoles with roast pumpkin 😋
 Add seeds into your smoothie for healthy fats, minerals and phytoestrogen support
 Choose seed-based crackers instead of grain-based options

Seeds are different to grains in that they are a combination of protein, fats, and carbohydrates, which helps stabilise your blood sugar rather than spike it.
And when your blood sugar is more stable, your hormones respond in a much more balanced way.

✨ BLOATED AGAIN? IT’S NOT ALWAYS JUST FOOD ✨

Bloating can have many different drivers, and figuring out the cause is often the most important first step.

Sometimes it’s food.
Sometimes it’s digestion.
Sometimes it’s parasites, bad bacteria or inflammation.
Always it’s your gut asking for deeper support. 💛

Some common causes of bloating can include:
🥛 Food intolerances
🚽 Constipation
🍽️ Poor digestion
🦠 Gut bacteria imbalance
😰 Stress
🌸 Hormonal changes
🧬 SIBO
🌾 Coeliac disease

The tricky part is knowing what’s actually driving your symptoms and which test, if any, is worth doing.

Gut testing can become costly and confusing, especially when you’re not sure where to start.

Kate offers a FREE consultation to help you work through your symptoms and determine which testing may be most appropriate for you, so you’re not spending money unnecessarily or simply guessing.

You can book through our website, or comment BLOAT below and we’ll send you the link with more information from our recent article. 💬

What if you’re not lazy… you’re just exhausted? 🤍

Fatigue can look like procrastination, low motivation, irritability, brain fog, struggling to get through your usual routine, or feeling like even the smallest tasks take more effort than they should.

Sometimes, pushing harder isn’t the answer.

Your body may be asking you to slow down, rest, and pay attention to what’s going on beneath the surface.

Persistent fatigue can have many contributing factors, from sleep quality and stress to nutrition, lifestyle demands and underlying health concerns. It’s worth listening when your body keeps asking for a break.

Instead of asking, “Why am I being so lazy?”
Try asking, “What might my body be trying to tell me?”

You don’t always need more discipline. Sometimes you need more support. 🌿

Your hormones are constantly responding to what’s happening around you.

 stress levels
 sleep
 nutrition
 movement
 even light exposure

All of these send signals to your body.

So, when something feels off, it’s not your body working against you.
It’s your body responding to the environment it’s in.
You have more influence than you think by focusing on
✨ balancing your blood sugar
✨ managing stress
✨ supporting your sleep
✨ nourishing your body properly

These are the foundations of good hormonal balance

When should you see a naturopath vs your doctor? 🌿🩺

The answer isn’t necessarily one or the other, they play very different (and complementary) roles in your healthcare.

Your doctor is often looking at the bigger clinical picture: diagnosing illness, ruling out serious conditions and identifying when results fall outside established medical reference ranges.

Your naturopath has at least an hour with you at your initial consultation and takes a deep look at your health history, symptoms, lifestyle and pathology results, often considering patterns and changes within those ranges to understand what may be contributing to how you’re feeling.

Sometimes your blood test results can be “within range”, but you still don’t feel your best. Your Naturopath will look for optimal ranges, not just the standard ranges.

The goal? Collaborative healthcare that helps you better understand your body and supports your health from multiple angles. 🤍

The quality of your period reflects what’s been happening in your body over the past few weeks.

Your:
 stress levels
 nutrition
 hydration
 exercise
 overall inflammation

Your body is constantly responding to the environment you’re creating for it, and your cycle is one of the clearest ways it communicates with you.

So, instead of feeling frustrated or disconnected from your period, start to see it as feedback.

It shows you what’s working well and where your body might need more support.

When you understand what your body is telling you, you can start to work with it.
If you’re not sure what your body is telling you yet, start by tracking your symptoms each month.
