♻️ It’s Official – Blister Pack Recycling is Coming to Simply Pharmacy Stockton! 💚

Thank you to everyone who responded to our recent post about introducing a blister pack recycling service.

The feedback was fantastic, so we’ve decided to invest in the service and bring it to our pharmacy! 🙌

We’ve invested in a large 240L recycling bin because we know there may be strong demand from our community. As we get started, there may be times when the bin reaches capacity while we learn how frequently it needs to be collected.

The recycling bin will be located on our retail floor as a self-service station, so you can simply bring your empty packs in and place them directly into the recycling bin.

What can be recycled?
✅ Empty medication blister packs
✅ Empty Webster-pak/blister packaging

Please note: This service is specifically for medication blister packaging and Webster blister packaging only. Please do not place medications, medication bottles, cardboard boxes or general household recycling in the bin.

We’re proud to make this investment and provide another useful service for the Stockton community while helping reduce medication packaging going to landfill. 🌏💚

We’ll let everyone know as soon as the recycling station is ready to use!

From today (15 May), the RSV vaccine is free for eligible older Australians under the National Immunisation Program.

The Australian Government has added the RSV vaccine to the NIP to help protect people most at risk of serious illness.

✅ Free RSV vaccination is now available for:
First Nations Australians aged 60 and over
Non‑Indigenous Australians aged 75 and over

The vaccine is also clinically recommended for people aged 60–74 with certain medical conditions, including bronchiectasis, COPD, cystic fibrosis and severe asthma. At this stage, these groups can access the vaccine via private prescription only, and we will continue advocating for free access to clinically recommended vaccines.

RSV can be serious for older people, especially those living with lung disease. We encourage older Australians to speak with their GP or healthcare provider about RSV vaccination.
