🤠 REAL Cowboys. Wild horses. And a little slice of California magic. 🐎
A few years ago, I was travelling through California and stopped at Refugio State Beach. I discovered there was horse riding available, so I ended up at a ranch for a ride through Refugio State Canyon and down towards the coastline.
And let me tell you… I was NOT expecting the cowboys! Haha 😂
I'm talking full cowboy hats, coiled ropes, spurs in their boots, spit on the ground… the real deal.
The kind of cowboys you think only exist in the movies when you're growing up in Australia! 🤠🤣
I was with a small group of riders from different parts of the world, and we headed out through this absolutely stunning landscape.
The scenery was breath taking. The conversations were lovely. And there were moments of beautiful, peaceful silence too, which I really enjoyed.
My horse was strong, steady and comforting. ❤️
I've always had a deep reverence for horses. There's something about their power, their strength, their presence… they command a kind of respect that doesn't need words. (If you've ever experienced energy healing with horses, you know what I mean).
And riding through that canyon, surrounded by trees, with clean air and the coastline ahead of us, I remember feeling so incredibly lucky and grateful to be there.
This is one of the things I love most about travelling. It's not just about seeing new places or ticking destinations off a list.
It's about those moments that stay with you forever.
The people you meet. The unexpected experiences. The beauty of the nature.
The feeling of being somewhere completely different and, somehow, feeling more connected to life itself.
I remember leaving that ranch feeling so full and free. It was wonderful.
Sometimes it's the simplest experiences that remind us how beautiful this world really is. 🌿
So now tell me ladies… would you be saddling up for the horses, the scenery… or the cowboys? Asking for a friend haha 🤣🤣
