You don’t need to know exactly what you want before you walk through our door.

Actually, we’d rather you ask questions.

Tell us what you love. What you’re unsure about. What you’ve had trouble healing before. Show us the screenshots you’ve been saving for six months.

Before we pierce anything, we want to understand you.

Then we can look at your anatomy, talk through placement and jewellery, and create something that actually makes sense for your body and your life.

You’re never expected to just sit down and trust the process without understanding it.
You’re part of the process.

You don’t need a birthday, milestone or special occasion to do something for yourself.

Sometimes you’ve simply been thinking about a piercing for six months and finally decide, today’s the day.

We see those appointments all the time.
You might arrive a little nervous. You might have twenty questions. You might know exactly what you want, or you might need us to help you figure it out.
That’s completely okay.
There’s no pressure to know everything before you walk through our doors. That’s our job.
We’ll talk through your ideas, look at your anatomy, help you choose your jewellery and explain what’s going to happen before we do anything.
You get to ask questions. You get to change your mind. You get to take your time.

Then hopefully you walk back out into King Street feeling just a little bit different than when you arrived.
Sometimes doing something purely because you want to is reason enough.

If you’re researching an intimate piercing and wondering whether it really matters who performs it, the answer is yes.

These piercings require a different level of anatomical understanding, precision and experience.
And sometimes the most responsible thing a piercer can tell you is that a particular piercing isn’t suitable for your anatomy.

We will always choose what is right for your body over simply making a booking.

No pressure. No judgement. No awkwardness.

There is no question you need to feel silly asking us.
Seriously.

We’ve heard just about everything over the years, and we would always rather you ask than leave wondering.

Ask about pain. Healing. Jewellery. Placement. Changing jewellery. That thing you read online at 11pm that has now made you nervous.

Part of our job is piercing.

A much bigger part is making sure you understand what’s happening with your body and feel confident looking after it once you leave.

Ask away.

THE LITTLE MOMENT AFTERWARDS
There’s a moment we get to see all the time.

You’ve been thinking about it for weeks. Maybe months.
You were nervous when you arrived.
And then it’s done.
You look in the mirror and there’s that little smile.
Why did I wait so long?

We never get tired of that part.

Helping someone leave our studio feeling a little more like themselves is still one of our favourite things about what we do.

HEALING REQUIRES CARE, PATIENCE AND SUPPORT.

The piercing itself might only take a moment.
Healing it is the bigger part of the journey.
There can be swelling. There can be days where everything looks perfect and others where your piercing feels a little temperamental. Jewellery may need downsizing, habits might need adjusting, and sometimes you might simply need reassurance that what you’re seeing is normal.

That’s why we don't think our responsibility ends when you walk out the door.

If we pierce you, we’re here to help you heal it too.
It’s one of the reasons we’re careful about what we pierce, when we pierce it and whether someone is ready for the aftercare involved.

Some of our favourite appointments are the ones where nobody comes alone.

Mothers and daughters choosing jewellery together. Friends convincing each other to finally get the piercing they’ve talked about for years. Fathers sitting beside daughters and pretending they’re not nearly as nervous as they are.

There’s usually a bit of laughter. Someone taking photos. Someone asking, “Did it hurt?” before deciding they’re going next.

And we love it.
Sacred Art was designed as a private, appointment-only studio because we wanted you to have space to enjoy these moments properly.
