Just for Facebook, because apparently Instagram doesn’t care about your life story, otherwise they’d allow more words in a post 😅
I debated with myself a bit about posting this one. But then I remembered the message for the collective yesterday. ‘Have no fear’. Fear almost won. Fear of judgement. Fear that people might look at me differently. Fear that I’d attract the wrong kind of attention.
So here is me, practicing what I preach. I am always telling people to be authentically and unapologetically themselves. To make time for themselves, to make sure they fill their own cup and do the things that bring them joy.
Pole dancing is something that has always brought me joy. It connects me with my divine feminine side, and makes me feel powerful all at the same time. Prioritising self care in the postpartum season is always going to look a little different. The last 9 months has been about prioritising my daughter. Pouring in to my family, my responsibilities, my business, but not myself.
This is what prioritising myself now looks like. Leaving the kitchen a mess for an extra hour, taking advantage of 5 minutes where my baby isn’t demanding something from me, and doing something that fills my cup and brings me joy.
I have so many mums give me the excuse ‘I don’t have time’ (yes I’m calling you out, I’m calling myself out at the same time) When your priorities shift to include yourself, you realise you have to MAKE time. It is not selfish, it is necessary.
I lost myself for quite a while there. I became a version of myself I didn’t like or even recognise. I hit rock bottom. And I did it alone, because I didn’t want anyone to see.
The beauty of having psychic soul family, is that some of them saw straight through me. They saw I was drowning and offered a life raft. They reminded me I was loved, and certainly not alone. Thank you so very much to those special few. You know who you are 🌻
This post has run away on me a bit. I was really just coming to bring a message around making yourself a priority in your own life again, but it turned into a full blown confession. A wise friend once said to me a problem shared is a problem halved. If you are in the trenches right now, please remember, you don’t have to do it alone. Even when you don’t feel like it, I promise you there is at least one person in your life who cares enough to listen.
You are worthy. ✨
