Last Friday I had the privilege of attending the Hamilton Rugby Club’s Mental Health Black Jersey Round lunch. As a former player and Hamilton old boy, it meant a lot to be back in a place that shaped so much of who I am. Seeing the club lead such an important initiative made me proud of the community we continue to build around each other.
The day was a powerful reminder that many people carry heavy things quietly — and that when we talk openly about the challenges life throws at us, we strengthen the support networks around us. Conversations like these save lives, and they help us feel less alone.
I want to offer something simple to anyone who might be doing it tough right now.
If you need a space to talk, breathe, or make sense of what’s going on, I’m available for informal wellbeing check ins. These aren’t counselling sessions — just a safe, non judgemental place to chat and feel supported. No fees. No pressure. Just connection.
And if you feel you might need more targeted support, we can explore options together at your pace.
You’re not alone. Our community is stronger when we look out for one another.
