Find yourself feeling overwhelmed and stressed at mealtimes with your family… well your not alone!

This parent/caregiver information session will walk you through:

✔️ Why fussy eating happens for children
✔️ What’s typical and when to seek further support
✔️ How to reduce stress and pressure at mealtimes
✔️ Practical strategies to encourage variety, participation and dare we say…. FUN! 🎉
✔️ How to build positive and enjoyable mealtime routines

No unrealistic expectations. Just practical support you can actually use!

🚨 If mealtimes feel stressful, overwhelming or like a daily battle field in your house… we feel you and you’re not alone! 😮‍💨

This is our hot tip:
👉 it’s actually not about the food first!

🛟 Start with safety
🤝 Start with connection.
😮‍💨 Start with taking the pressure off!

Because when a child feels:
✔️ safe in their body
✔️ supported at the table
✔️ not forced or rushed

That’s when eating actually becomes possible! 🍎 😮

Try this first:
🍎 Sit and eat together (even for a few minutes)
😮‍💨 No pressure to eat – exposure is enough (having something new to look at can be tricky)
🍞 Keep some of their preferred foods on the plate- having something they know the like can be a good safety net!
✨ Focus on connection over “just one more bite”- as tempting as it can be!
🪑 Postural stability is important- make sure their feet are touching the ground or surface and their back is supported.

Hi! I’m Laura, a Speech Pathologist at Blue Gum Early Childhood Intervention! 🌸✨

I love being a Speech Pathologist because I get to support children and their families every step of the way 💬🌱

Working within an amazing team, cheering on first words, empowering parents and watching confidence grow at home, school and within the community is what makes each day special! 💛

Outside of work you’ll find me at the beach with my puppy dog 🐕 🌊, spending time with friends and family 🫶🏻☀️and enjoying a Pilates class 🤸
