I'm looking forward to joining colleagues from across the region at IMCAS Asia 2026.

This year, I'll be participating in a panel discussion on injectable complications, as well as a session exploring some of the current controversies surrounding the extracellular matrix (ECM), an area that continues to generate important discussion and research within aesthetic medicine.

I'm also pleased to be presenting at the Merz Symposium and contributing to the ongoing conversation around evidence-based approaches, innovation, and patient outcomes.

IMCAS provides a valuable opportunity to share knowledge, challenge perspectives, and connect with experts dedicated to advancing our field.

If you're attending IMCAS Asia 2026, I'd love to connect and continue the conversation.

As a clinician, collagen has long been a central focus, but it is only one component of overall skin quality.

I'm pleased to have co-authored a study with Merz Aesthetics, now published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, assessing extracellular matrix (ECM) remodelling and biomarker responses following treatment with Calcium Hydroxylapatite-CMC.

In this six-month, placebo-controlled human biomarker study, results demonstrated coordinated changes across multiple ECM components, including collagen, elastin and key structural proteins, along with improvements in signs of solar elastosis, a hallmark of photodamaged skin.

These findings reinforce the importance of recognising the ECM as an integrated system and have meaningful implications for future research and our understanding of skin regeneration.

I’ve just returned from Paris after attending IMCAS, with close to 20,000 delegates from around the world.

It was a great opportunity to reconnect with colleagues I don’t often get to see, and to engage with the latest science emerging in regenerative aesthetics, alongside innovations shaping our field.

I also had the opportunity to participate in a panel on Science Trends and the Quest for Longevity, where I spoke about the importance and relevance of the extracellular matrix in regenerative aesthetics. This area continues to influence how we think about treatment outcomes and longevity.

Then receiving the Merz Global Expert Communicator award, voted for by my peers, was a real wow moment! I’ve always enjoyed explaining complex ideas and telling a good story, but to have that recognised by colleagues is an honour. I'm blown away.

Thank you to Merz Global and to everyone who made IMCAS such an amazing event.
