As a dietitian, I often get asked, what is the best snack for health or sports performance?
Well, to quote Dr. Joanna McMillan, “Heaven forbid you should eat a banana! “ Hahah.
In summary, a banana compared to an organic vegan protein bar, typically has adequate protein to meet daily needs, more fibre, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B9 for energy and brain function, more potassium, magnesium and manganese for heart, blood, muscle and bone health, is lower in sodium, energy density and fat, contains little to no saturated fat or cholesterol and is cheaper, compostable, portable, versatile and fricking easy to prepare and eat!🙊
Turns out mother nature made her own perfect energy bar!😉
