Constipation really can make for a CR*PPY day! 💩

💡 It's the NUMBER ONE symptom that people with Parkinsons report. It has a direct link to your health, how you feel each day & the choices you make as a consequence.

But with these 4 small changes, you can make a BIG difference!

💧 HYDRATION: Drink at least 1.5 litres of water daily to keep things from drying out.
🥦 FIBRE: Fill at least 50% of your plate with colourful veggies and snack on nuts, seeds & fruit for a happy gut.
💊 MAGNESIUM: Add magnesium citrate to your daily supplements - it's essential for systemic health and the citrate form has a softening affect on your stools.
🚽 POSTURE: Sit with your knees above your hips, back long, and tummy relaxed to let gravity do its job. Try belly breathing to help relax the muscles (and yourself).

✨ Consistency is KEY. It can take a little while for the benefits to start showing, so be patient.

Do you get stuck in your chair? Has someone suggested you get a motorised lift chair to help you?? 😱

Do you have a neuro condition that adds that extra bit of spice to the challenge? 🌶️
(e.g. one side stronger than the other, difficulty planning or timing tasks, not sure where your feet are in space...)

Standing from a chair is the MOST FUNCTIONAL TASK you can and need to do, every day!

So - lets break the task down & practice, practice, practice!

All you need is yourself 🧍‍♂️ & a chair 🪑

1️⃣ HIP HINGEING: being able to shift your weight forward over your feet gives your legs the chance to push your whole body up.
2️⃣ BUTT WALKING: bringing your butt forward in the chair is a game-changer. No one can get up from the back of the seat!
3️⃣ LEG SLIDES: keeping mobility in your knees & ankles to slide your feet back to stack your body like a loaded spring gives for a powerful push into standing.

💡 Now - go & enjoy your day, whatever that may be...

🎥 Watching a movie at the cinema
🚻 Using the bathroom without calling for help to get up 🙃

Don’t let a bad night’s sleep throw off your whole day! 🌙💤

I know, it’s tempting to roll over, hit snooze, pour coffee in your eyes, and then rely on sugary snacks to push through your to-do list. But let’s be real—none of that is going to make you feel good or give your 🧠 BRAIN the energy it actually needs.

Instead, try jumping in early and setting yourself up for success. A few small changes in the morning can make a huge difference in how you feel all day. Trust me, your brain will thank you!

Try these 5 simple neuro health hacks to feel better and boost your energy:

1️⃣ HYDRATE: Start with a glass of water to rehydrate your cells and wake up your body. Add a squeeze of lemon for a refreshing cleanse and better digestion. 🍋💧
2️⃣ LIGHT: Spend 5-10 minutes in early morning light to reset your circadian clock and boost wake & sleep hormones. 🌞
