A beautiful day visiting the lovely Tammy and her incredible support animals at Town & Country Counselling in Salmon Arm, BC, Canada 🇨🇦

Tammy is doing amazing work in such a peaceful, welcoming setting — offering equine therapy, EMDR, and a truly unique space for healing and connection. Grateful to connect with passionate people creating safe, supportive environments for others. 🐴✨

Josh’s session today focused on building confidence, leadership, and emotional regulation alongside Luna and Apples 🐴✨ He explored how to use his energy and body language to communicate clearly—lifting his energy to encourage the horses to trot beside him, then bringing it back down to help them relax, as well as asking them to back up. It was a great learning experience as the horses tested him a little, helping Josh discover just the right level of energy needed for them to respond. Once he found that balance, Luna happily followed him around the arena, showing his calm and confident leadership—something Josh really enjoyed and felt proud of.

Sarah’s session today was all about creativity, confidence, and connection 🐴🎨 She chose to lead Cuddles and turn him into her canvas, painting wings, flames on his front feet, and even the word “rock,” while music played in the background. We added a running braid down his neck, and Sarah loved singing along as she painted. The session supported her fine motor skills through brushwork and movement in her wheelchair, while also building confidence as she led Cuddles so beautifully beside her. To finish, she took him for a walk and enjoyed a calm hello with Talon—leaving her feeling relaxed, happy, and proud.

Today’s session with Jacob was all about creativity, connection, and a little bit of messy fun 🎨🐴

We explored painting both on canvas and on Tallon, turning it into a sensory experience that supported emotional expression, creativity, and engagement. Jacob connected colours with feelings, practised writing names, and enjoyed some hands-on messy play painting his own hand.

We also built in turn-taking skills with a fun game of noughts and crosses on Tallon.

A beautiful session combining art, learning, and connection 💛

Sarah’s session today was all about emotional regulation 🤍🐴

With soft meditation music playing, we spent some calm, quiet time in the undercover arena, soaking in the peaceful presence of the horses. Sarah absolutely loved patting them and connecting in her own gentle way.

A big highlight was Sarah leading Cuddles alongside her wheelchair — building confidence and connection step by step. We’re excited to keep working towards her goal of bringing out her electric wheelchair next session 💫

Jake had a fantastic session with Taluna Connections today 🐴✨

We made homemade horse treats using carrot, banana, oats, and apple sauce—getting hands-on with lots of sensory play and mixing. Jake loved the textures, shared lots of laughs, and enjoyed every moment.

Tallon kept things fun (and a little chaotic!) by “helping,” stealing oats, and knocking things off the table—much to Jake’s amusement 💛

A beautiful session full of connection, laughter, and sensory exploration.

Jacob’s first session with the Taluna team was a great start. Today we worked on emotional regulation, calm leadership, and confidence while interacting with the horses. Jacob practised setting boundaries through calm assertiveness, leading the horses, and learning about their care and routines by helping mix their feed. He also enjoyed watching Talon’s cheeky antics and had lots of fun leading the horses.

Sarah’s first session with the Taluna team today was truly magical. One of Sarah’s goals is to build her emotional regulation, and today was a wonderful start. Her calm energy helped the horses feel safe and relaxed around her — Tallon loved the pats and smooches and even rested his muzzle gently on her head. The herd was so comfortable in her presence that Cuddles even laid down for a nap, creating a beautiful session filled with connection, trust, and calm moments together. 🐎✨
