QEC Children are at the heart of everything we do. At QEC, we believe every child deserves the best start in life. But that’s only the beginning.

That’s why we’ve been partnering with families in Victoria for over 100 years – and are proud to be Victoria’s largest provider of early parenting services. We support families with children aged from newborn until their 4th birthday, delivering specialised services, guidance and education. Every family and child is different, so our approach is tailored to you. From residential, day-visit, and te

lehealth programs, we’ll help you find the right support at every stage. All our programs are delivered by our specialised team, made up of Registered/Enrolled Nurses, Early Parenting Practitioners, Allied Health Professionals, Social Workers, Maternal and Child Health Nurses, Mental Health Clinicians, Midwives, Psychologists, Art Therapists and General Practitioners. Parents and carers often tell us how rewarding it is to see their children’s personalities shine through during their time with us at QEC. At QEC we get to enjoy the rewards of seeing parents become more capable and bring joy back into their parenting relationships. It’s all about building confident, healthy, sustainable routines, habits, communities and families that enable children to thrive.

Today, we are proud to officially announce the opening of our brand-new centre, QEC Baabak Hastings Early Parenting Centre! 👏

We were honoured to welcome Lizzie Blandthorn, Minister for Children, alongside Paul Mercurio MP (Hastings) and Paul Edbrooke MP (Frankston), who joined us to officially open the centre today.

This is an exciting step forward in expanding our support for families across more communities, and we look forward to supporting parents and carers throughout Hastings and the surrounding suburbs 🩵

This National Reconciliation Week, we’ve taken part in Voices for Reconciliation choir and are proud to share our performance of Beds Are Burning by Midnight Oil.

The 2026 theme, All In, is a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

Staff had a great time singing together 'Beds Are Burning' and reflecting on the lyrics call to action to be All In for justice and reconciliation, and for all Australians to know our history.

Today is IDAHOBIT Day.

Discrimination still affects many LGBTQIA+ people, including families with young children. That is why inclusion needs to be built into programs, not added on. We recently completed our first six-week Rainbow Playsteps program, delivered in partnership with Rainbow Families Australia.

The program supports parents and caregivers of children under four who are part of the LGBTIQA+ community, offering an inclusive space to explore early parenting topics such as communication, behaviour, child development, routines, play and attachment within a supportive peer environment.

All families who participated in Rainbow PlaySteps reported an increased sense of connection to their community. This is an important finding, as fostering community connection is a core purpose of the program. On IDAHOBIT Day, we reflect on how this kind of work helps create safer, more inclusive spaces for families, not just today, but throughout the year.

🎥 We’ve refreshed our Welcome to QEC video!

This updated video gives a real look at who we are and how we support families with children 0 to 4 years.

It was shaped by feedback from our Family Advisory Committee, with input from parents to make sure it reflects what families actually want to know. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

We also heard you wanted more program-specific information, so we’ve created additional videos you can explore on our website:
