10 things a counsellor / social worker can support your child or young person with at GROW.

Sometimes, the support a child needs isn’t just about the child or young person.

It might be supporting a parent who is navigating a really hard season. Helping a young person make sense of big feelings. Working through friendships, anxiety, grief or change. Supporting siblings. Or helping the whole family feel a little more connected and understood.

This is why we are so excited to have Social Work + Counselling as part of GROW.

Taryn can work directly with children and young people, but she can also work alongside parents, families, schools and the wider team around them.

Because children don’t exist in isolation and neither should their support.

Day 5 of Speech Pathology week - Possibility to choose

Chewing is a skill and skills need practice. 🧠👄

Little S is nearly one, and here we’re using a Side Biter to support some of the foundations of eating: lateral chewing, graded jaw movement, oral awareness and safe, supported integration of the gag reflex.

The goal is never to “push past” a gag. The gag is an important protective response. Instead, we provide predictable, graded experiences that help little mouths learn where things are, how to move around them and what to do next.

When a child with complex medical needs attends early education, everyone needs to feel confident, the family, the child and the team supporting them.

Last week, Abigail, one of our Complex Care Nurses, delivered tailored PEG training to an Albury early childhood service.

Our training brings together three important pieces: the clinical expertise of our Registered Nurses, the knowledge of families, who are the experts in their child and the practical needs of the educators who will be supporting them each day.

It's hands-on, specific to the child and designed for the environment where care will actually happen.

Our Complex Care team can provide tailored training across areas including **PEG and other feeding tubes, enteral feeding, epilepsy and other complex care needs**, alongside supporting documentation to help organisations meet their care and compliance requirements.

Because inclusion isn't simply having a child attend.

It's making sure the people around them feel equipped to support them safely and confidently.

Sometimes it’s not about what food we offer but how we offer it.

This week, we stepped into the classroom with the future of early childhood education.

With more than **1 in 2 Australian children aged 0–5 now attending approved child care**, the people supporting children across their days have an incredibly important role.

Our session with Wodonga TAFE wasn't about giving educators a list of strategies or telling them how to “manage behaviour”.

We got curious about what sits underneath it. 🧠

We talked brains, development, communication, regulation and sensory needs and most importantly, we got **hands-on**, discussing real supports that can actually translate into everyday early childhood environments.

Because when we build the capability of educators, we build better environments for children to grow.
