It is hard to know whether your child is not understanding an instruction or just not wanting to do something.

This is hard to know especially if they are still learning and developing their speech and language and finding other learning challenging.

You also want to make sure they will stop if something they are going to do is dangerous.

This session will give some key strategies and talk through your ideas and situations.

Introducing a new program for carers in the community.

EarlyEd is pleased to partner, with the Carer Gateway, through the Benevolent Society to bring local carer’s opportunities to meet together.

Who is it the group for?

Anyone who is a carer.

Young carers, parents, relatives, grandparents, fathers, mothers, neighbours.

What is it for?

This EarlyEd Multicultural In-Person Peer Carer Support group aims to create a supportive and welcoming environment where local carers can connect, share experiences, and build a strong sense of community. It is designed to address the isolation often experienced by carers with multicultural backgrounds, providing them with opportunities to engage with others who understand their challenges and can offer mutual support.

Come and play and listen to our interactive Ready to Learn Online Story Time every Thursday at 10.00am. It’s a great opportunity to support your child’s language and literacy development and connect with other children.

What will the story be this week?
Tip Tip Dig Dig Emma Garcia

When a pile of mess is discovered, a group of big, colourful, construction trucks start working together, all having their own job to do, all making their own special sounds to create a wonderful surprise at the end.

This book visually invites the reader to join in. The pictures are bright, capturing children’s attention, creating a sense of excitement. The trucks all make different sounds and actions, helping children associate sounds with movement.

Snap went Chester by Tania Cox

Bored Chester the crocodile wanted something fun to do, so when a fly kept buzzing around his ear, Chester went SNAP!!! Chester thought this game was so much fun that he decided to snap at the other creatures, until...something went SNAP back at him.
A colourful and engaging picture book to read aloud to your children. The rhythmic and repetitive texts make this book easy to read. The use of bold words in capital letters brings attention to the word, building anticipation, helping children understand that something exciting or important is about to happen - “SNAP”

You can come just once or come every week.
If you do come more often the children will benefit from the routine, settle more easily and get to know each other.

Playgroup is ideal for families:
- who are looking for advice
- or waiting on services and childcare or preschool

A supported playgroup means we have staff who can help your child settle in and join in the activities. They help your child understand what is going to happen next by using routines, visual timetables and Key Word Sign.

This is a great little game you can play at home. You just need to get an empty Pringles container. Simply throw the ball in the air and catch it in the container. Have a listen to the sound it makes when it lands at the bottom of the container. How high can you throw the ball and still catch it, in the container? You can try different size balls including a tennis ball. Who can get the most in the container?
Ball play builds hand-eye coordination, gross and fine motor skills, spatial awareness, grasping skills, problem-solving skills, balance and even language and social skills.

Join other children at our free supported interactive story time

Every Thursday
10.00 am
open to anyone
and stay home and keep warm while supporting their learning.

Ideal for children 0-6 years.

This is an indoor activity you can join in no matter what the weather.

EarlyEd's Storytime includes singing, dancing, reading and will provide a follow up activity related to the story.

During the session, visuals and Key Word Sign will be used to help all children follow the session and story. It is a great opportunity to support your child's language and literacy development and connect with other children.
