Here is some very practical research.

"The findings show that learning to cycle is about much more than riding a bike. Young people with disabilities, families, and community partners all play an important role."

We have been exploring ways to support early riding skills as part of early childhood intervention, especially through our Cubby House Toy Library.

Our physiotherapists have seen how learning to be active as part of family activities puts everyone on the pathway to fitness in the future. As with all skills starting early and getting advice from your early childhood intervention team ...early, makes the difference.

Taking time to get to know families and their children is one of the ways we, at EarlyEd, can make sure we can be there to help children when they need it.

Every Conversation Matters.

Talking builds relationships and makes it easier to take action and make a difference.

Come and play and listen to our interactive Ready to Learn Online Story Time every Thursday at 10.00am. It’s a great opportunity to support your child’s language and literacy development and connect with other children.
Great whether it is hot/cold or rainy so you can stay inside and play!

What will the story be this week?
Emily loves to bounce by Stephen Michael King

Emily loves to bounce and she does so in everything she does. She bounces high, low, with her elephant and her cat, but the best bounce of all is on mum and dad’s bed. “Boing, boing, boing” bounces Emily.

How can reading Emily Loves to Bounce help support your child’s learning?
The illustrations are bright, full of movement and showing emotions. The illustrations match the text, making it easier for children to follow along and understand the meaning.
Using repetitive and rhythmic language helps to keep children engaged and participating in storytelling.
Repeated words and phrases helps children predict what comes next, building their confidence and willingness to participate.
Emily’s bouncing transports her into imaginative play, pretending to be different things and exploring her world through movement. This can prompt children to use their imagination and express themselves creatively.

What will the story be this week?
There’s only one Dad like you by Jess Racklyeft

To think all the “caring dads, daring dads, wise dads, fixer of all that is broken dads, builder of best surprise dads, you teach me about this great big world and how to enjoy the ride dads” or any father figure in your life, we will be celebrating Father’s Day by reading a heartfelt book about DADS. So come and join us to celebrate and don’t forget to tell your dad or grandad, uncle or father figure to join in the fun.

How can reading There’s only one dad like you help support your child’s learning?
Descriptive words are used throughout the book, providing many opportunities to learn new words and build on vocabulary.
The illustrations feature animal families engaging in everyday experiences, providing opportunities to make connections between the story and their own family experiences.
