Sarah Najjar, Reiki Master Teacher & Practitioner has been practising Reiki since 2002 and teaching since 2009.

She is also trained in Shiatsu and Oriental Therapies and Remedial Massage. She brings elements of this training to your Reiki treatments and Reiki training so you have an optimum opportunity to heal. Reiki courses take place regularly in Melbourne. Treatments are available throughout the week. Zoom Reiki practice groups take place on the last Wednesday of each month

Winter invites us inward.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, winter is associated with rest, reflection, and rebuilding our ki (energy) reserves.

Winter is an opportunity to prioritise practices that regulate the nervous system and encourage gentle movement. Time spent rugged up and outdoors in nature can also be nourishing.

Rather than forcing growth or activity, winter reminds us to strengthen the foundations from which growth naturally emerges.

Q: "It didn't experience the same things as I did in my last treatment, is that okay?"

This is one of the most common questions I get from students and clients alike.

A: Yes, it’s completely fine not to experience heat, tingling, or see images during every Reiki session.

These are transitory experiences, which come, go, and change. Instead of focusing on what you experienced during the treatment, it’s much better to reflect on how you feel after the treatment.

Ask yourself, are you more:
- Balanced?
- Grounded?
- Freer in your body?
- Open-hearted?

Reiki meets you exactly where you are in the moment. Trust the practice.

What inspires you when you spend time outside?

On my regular walks through the streets of Darebin, I notice the small things like these tiny white flowers with yellow centres that spark joy and I’m reminded of Reiki practice and how paying attention to small moments and feeling grateful for them, can create better health and wellbeing.

Gratitude isn’t only a spiritual practice. Research shows that regularly practising gratitude can improve your health and wellbeing.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to a wonderful Reiki Level One course on the weekend.

We were so focused on speaking and connecting at the end of the course that we didn’t take a photo.

As we move further into autumn, you may notice subtle changes in your energy levels, or a sense that your body is asking for more rest. Autumn is a natural transition point, offering you an opportunity to recalibrate and prepare for the months ahead.

Two areas worth supporting during this seasonal shift are your nervous and immune systems. They're interconnected. When your nervous system is under ongoing stress, you can remain in a heightened state for longer periods. Over time, this can affect how well you regulate, restore, and maintain overall health and wellbeing.

Supporting the nervous system early helps create better conditions for resilience. As you begin to settle into a more balanced state, you feel and function better.

Reiki practice and treatments support this process by creating a more regulated state. You may experience this as improved sleep, better energy levels, and less body ache.

If you’ve noticed changes in your energy or mood, it could be an invitation to recalibrate before winter arrives.
