Slow, focused, aware movement, with breath awareness … relaxed, with knees off lock so the spine, neck and shoulders can relax … that creates release, energy and blood flow, building strength and power into the body and mind. This is authentic yoga - perfect for this timeline of our stressed and anxious human population …

I love this … and perhaps when I have brought 19 souls together for a 5 day yoga retreat that we create such a network ‘above the ground’. I certainly felt like it in May 🙏❤️

Beneath the forest floor lies a hidden world more alive than most can imagine. It's called the mycorrhizal network — a vast web of fungal threads that links trees together like an underground internet.

Through this living system, trees share water, minerals, and even warning signals about drought or insect a*tacks. But the most astonishing discovery is the role of "mother trees." These ancient giants can recognize their own offspring and send them extra nutrients, keeping their young alive in deep shade where sunlight cannot reach.

In some cases, scientists have even found centuries-old tree stumps still alive — being kept nourished by their neighbors long after their own trunks were gone. Far from competing for survival, forests are built on cooperation, intelligence, and connection.

Every step we take in the woods is above a quietly pulsing network of life, communicating, supporting, remembering. Nature is not silent. It's speaking beneath our feet.

DAY 4…. Amara 5-day Sunshine Yoga Retreat 21-25 May 2026
No rush, no pushing, just a quiet awareness that brings joy.

This is the truth and authenticity of yoga.

Holding the pose and engaging the breath is where you create flexibility, strength and resilience. It is when body, mind and soul meet and say ‘ahhh that feels good’ !!!!

DAY 3 …. Amara 5-day Sunshine Yoga Retreat 21-25 May 2026
The only error that can be done with Sunshine Yoga is when you move into a pose and it is painful ! To have the awareness and ability to know your body, to feel how your body responds to a pose (even left and right sides feel different), to go slowly into the posture to the fullest extent that feels ok in that moment - the fullest extent is when you feel a good stretch without strain. You hold and breathe into the body - into the pose - using the out-breath to release and relax tension and tightness and then feel the body asking to move deeper. Pushing into a pose can create injury. Your body loves to ease into a pose, feeling its way to where it is best to be on that day and in that moment. No rush, no pushing, just a quiet awareness that brings joy.
Holding the pose and engaging the breath is where you create flexibility, strength and resilience. It is when body, mind and soul meet and say ‘ahhh that feels good’ !!!!
